Chia Oil Supplementation Attenuates Obesity‐Induced Hepatic Steatosis, PVAT Inflammation, and Endothelial Dysfunction in Mice

open access: yesMolecular Nutrition &Food Research, Volume 70, Issue 8, 27 April 2026.
We studied whether chia oil, rich in healthy omega‐3 fats, could improve health in obese mice. The oil reduced fat accumulation in the liver, decreased inflammation around blood vessels, and helped blood vessels relax better. These results suggest chia oil may help prevent complications of obesity, like fatty liver and heart disease.

Farmacologia do fibratos [PDF]

An Exploratory Study on the Pathogenic Role of Faecal Extracellular Vesicles in Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease Progression and in Drug‐Induced Liver Injury

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Vesicles, Volume 15, Issue 3, March 2026.
Fecal extracellular vesicles (fEVs) from DILI patients have a distinct bacterial profile. This study provides evidence that bacterial EVs enter the bloodstream. DILI and MASLD F≥3 fEVs increase the pro‐inflammatory response and hepatocyte steatosis. FEVs from DILI patients enhance the hepatotoxic potential of diclofenac.

Glutathione reductase-catalyzed cascade of redox reactions to bioactivate potent antimalarial 1,4-naphthoquinones--a new strategy to combat malarial parasites. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Our work on targeting redox equilibria of malarial parasites propagating in red blood cells has led to the selection of six 1,4-naphthoquinones, which are active at nanomolar concentrations against the human pathogen Plasmodium falciparum in culture and ...

A Reproducible Workflow for Macrophage Membrane Isolation and Nanocore Selection Toward Bioinspired Nanoparticles Targeting Immunologically Cold Tumors

open access: yesSmall Methods, Volume 10, Issue 5, 9 March 2026.
A reproducible workflow is established for isolating macrophage membranes to enable the efficient preparation and characterization of membrane‐coated nanoparticles. By optimizing M2‐like nanovesicle stability and nanocore compatibility, this procedure advances the engineering of macrophage membrane‐coated nanoparticles with improved tumor targeting ...
