Deep Learning‐Based Skin Lesion Classification

open access: yesJournal of Ultrasound in Medicine, EarlyView.
High‐frequency ultrasound (HFUS) is valuable for assessing skin lesions, supporting diagnosis, treatment monitoring, and surgical planning. This study evaluates deep learning models for binary classification of HFUS images acquired in B‐mode and Doppler mode.

Muscle Ultrasound Echo Intensity Detects Insulin Resistance Before Changes in HbA1c or Fasting Glucose, Independent of BMI

open access: yesJournal of Ultrasound in Medicine, EarlyView.
Objectives To quantify the association between skeletal muscle echo intensity (MEI), measured by ultrasound, and clinical markers of insulin resistance and glycemic control, and evaluate MEI's diagnostic accuracy in identifying insulin resistance. Methods In this cross‐sectional study, 20 adults with obesity (mean body mass index [BMI] 34.4 ± 2.6 kg/m2,

The Role of Ultrasound across the Continuum of Care for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

open access: yesJournal of Ultrasound in Medicine, EarlyView.
Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is the most common upper limb entrapment neuropathy and a leading cause of pain, functional impairment, and surgical referral. This article demonstrates the central role of ultrasound (US) across the continuum of CTS care, both for confirming the CTS diagnosis and for guiding treatments ranging from perineural injections to

Atypical Wounds in Chronic Graft‐Versus‐Host Disease and Peripheral Arterial Disease Caused by Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors

open access: yesJEADV Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The term “atypical wounds” primarily refers to lesions with immunological or cancerous etiologies. However, these wounds can also be drug‐induced. We report about a 32‐year‐old man with a 6‐year history of chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) and chronic graft‐versus‐host disease (cGvHD) following an HLA‐compatible allogeneic stem cell ...
