Percutaneous Fasciotomy for Dupuytren's Contracture
The Journal of Hand Surgery, 2011Needle aponeurotomy (percutaneous needle fasciotomy) for Dupuytren's contracture can be performed in the office setting with local anesthesia. It is simple and inexpensive and has a low complication rate and rapid recovery compared with open fasciectomy. It can usually be repeated safely and effectively for recurrent disease.

Dupuytren's Contracture—The Role of Fasciotomy
Hand, 1983This paper summarises the results obtained in 95 patients treated by fasciotomy, defines the indications for this procedure and describes the operative technique. During a period of seven years a total of 95 patients with 137 fingers affected by Dupuytren's Contracture have been treated by fasciotomy. The minimum follow-up is two years.

The closure of fasciotomy wounds creates problems for patient and surgeon alike. Split thickness skin grafting results in unsightly and insensate wounds and often requires general anaesthesia and prolonged inpatient care. We describe an improvement of a previously reported technique which is as effective as proprietary medical devices currently ...

Background: Recent adult literature has demonstrated that in the setting of acute compartment syndrome (ACS), if fasciotomy wounds are not closed after the first debridement, they are unlikely to be closed via delayed primary closure (DPC).

Plantar fasciopathy can be chronic and debilitating, with recent histopathological studies showing that the condition is actually a failed healing response.1 Surgical solutions have evolved over the years from traditional open surgical release (with and without spur resection), percutaneous fasciotomy, and, most recently, to endoscopic release.2–19 ...
