In November, 2007, early afternoon, a 17-year-old unconscious male patient was admitted to our paediatric emergency department. Third-party history from his co-workers and company physician revealed that the young man collapsed suddenly without any obvious triggers while standing at his workbench in a metal processing factory.

We present a randomized subexponential time, polynomial space parameterized algorithm for the k -Weighted Feedback Arc Set in Tournaments (k -FAST ) problem. We also show that our algorithm can be derandomized by slightly increasing the running time.

Linear Hashing is a widely used and efficient version of extensible hashing. A distributed version of Linear Hashing is LH* that stores key-indexed records on up to hundreds of thousands of sites in a distributed system. LH* implements the dictionary data structure efficiently since it does not use a central component for the key-based operations of ...

FAST-LIO2: Fast Direct LiDAR-Inertial Odometry
IEEE Transactions on robotics, 2021This article presents FAST-LIO2: a fast, robust, and versatile LiDAR-inertial odometry framework. Building on a highly efficient tightly coupled iterated Kalman filter, FAST-LIO2 has two key novelties that allow fast, robust, and accurate LiDAR ...

A number of schemes for implementing a fast multiplier are presented and compared on the basis of speed, complexity, and cost. A parallel multiplier designed using the carry-save scheme and constructed from 74 series integrated circuits is described. This multiplier multiplies 10-bit by 12-bit binary numbers with a worst- case multiplication time of ...

Current Pain and Headache Reports, 2010
Headache is a common disorder in the general population. Fasting headache is coded to Group 10 of the second edition of the International Classification of Headache Disorders ("Headache attributed to disorder of homeostasis"). A study conducted in Denmark's general population found a lifetime prevalence rate of 4.1% for fasting headache.

Blunt abdominal trauma is common in pediatric trauma. This chapter discusses a child who presents to the emergency department with left upper quadrant pain after being struck by a motor vehicle. The point-of-care focused assessment with sonography for trauma (FAST) examination provides quick, reliable information on bleeding into the peritoneal ...

FAST: Fast Autonomous System Traceback
21st International Conference on Advanced Networking and Applications (AINA '07), 2007The defense against distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks is one of the primary concerns on the Internet today. IP spoofing makes it difficult for the victim to determine the packet's origin. There is a need for a mechanism that could enable realtime traceback of the origins of the attacks.
