Radiation research, 1988We pursue Yang's multiple scattering analysis and develop a wave description of electron penetration which permits the calculation of spatial distributions under realistic conditions. We give special emphasis to the longitudinal part of the problem and illustrate with sample calculations of particular interest to medical physicists.
