Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...

The HISSTools Impulse Response Toolbox: Convolution for the Masses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This paper introduces the HISSTools project, and its first release, the HISSTools Impulse Response Toolbox (HIRT); a set of tools for solving problems relating to convolution and impulse responses (IRs).

Study on Hysteretic Characteristics of Piezoelectric Fast Steering Mirror in Frequency Response [PDF]

open access: yes한국정밀공학회지
Nonlinear hysteresis effects in piezoelectric fast steering mirrors (FSMs) are major culprits of deteriorating the servo performance and reducing the robustness of a control system.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Fast Response Dual Frequency Liquid Crystal Materials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Dual frequency liquid crystal (DFLC) exhibits a positive dielectric anisotropy at low frequencies and negative dielectric anisotropy at high frequencies. The frequency where dielectric anisotropy is zero is called crossover frequency.

Fast frequency response from offshore multi-terminal VSC-HVDC schemes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This paper analyses the frequency support characteristics of multi-terminal VSC-HVDC (MTDC) schemes using the energy transferred from wind turbine rotating mass and other AC systems.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...
