A Fast Frequency-Domain Algorithm for Equalizing Acoustic Impulse Responses

IEEE Signal Processing Letters, 2012
The multiple-input/output inverse theorem (MINT) algorithm for multichannel equalization is computationally demanding. Although adaptive MINT reduces the computational complexity, it suffers from slow convergence. In this letter, we propose a low-complexity fast-converging adaptive algorithm for multichannel equalization.

Cochlear and Fast Electrical Responses to Frequency Modulated Tones: A Frequency Specific Stimulus

Auris Nasus Larynx, 1979
Some characteristics of "the fast response" to frequency modulation were explored here by examining (1) CM and AP in animal experiment and (2) BER in human study. CM to frequency modulated tone showed frequency change and amplitude change, the latter of which is probably due to frequency characteristics of the sound conductive system of the ear ...

Utilizing Data Centers for Inertia and Fast Frequency Response Services

2020 2nd International Conference on Smart Power & Internet Energy Systems (SPIES), 2020
This research evaluates data centers as an emergency source of virtual inertia and fast frequency response, using PMUs to detect disturbances. The performance of the proposed method is validated using DIgSILENT PowerFactory simulation, calibrated using a real frequency event that occurred in the Irish power system. Wind generation is significant in the

Fast computation of frequency response functions for a class of nonlinear systems

2008 47th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2008
One of the important and efficient tools in system analysis is the analysis of responses to harmonic excitations. For linear systems the information on such responses is contained in the frequency response functions, which can be computed analytically. For nonlinear systems there may be even no periodic response to a periodic excitation. Even if such a

Cloud-Edge Interoperability for Demand Response-Enabled Fast Frequency Response Service Provision

IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing, 2022
The massive penetration of Renewables into the energy mix and the existence of IoT-enabled Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) in the emerging smart grid, while a blessing towards de-carbonization, increase considerably the operations and planning functions of the grid.

Fast Parametric Macromodeling of Frequency Responses Using Parameter Derivatives

IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters, 2008
This letter presents a generalization of the multivariate Vector Fitting technique that includes parameter derivatives in the macromodeling process. The computational cost to simulate partial derivatives in terms of the parameters is often substantially lower than the simulation cost of additional data samples.

Extending the Reach of Traditional Frequency Control for Fast Responses

2019 IEEE Milan PowerTech, 2019
This paper investigates the role of grid-level battery energy storage in delivering measured reserve to supplant traditional synchronous units for frequency response support in the context of high renewable generation penetration. Dynamic simulation is performed on a modified 39-Bus New England model to assess and evaluate the impact of embedded ...

The Method of Fast Frequency Response Testing Based on LabVIEW

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
This paper designs a virtual spectrum analyst based on LabVIEW,chirp signal is used for pumping signal of the system. A fast frequency estimation method is realized by the graph programming language LabVIEW. Compared with traditional virtual spectrum analyst, this method can better and faster measure amplitude-frequency characteristic and phase ...

A fast Green's function method for calculating bulk wave frequency responses from SAW frequency responses

IEEE Symposium on Ultrasonics, 2002
A method for the fast simulation of bulk wave second-order effects in SAW (surface acoustic wave) devices is described. It is shown that the bulk wave contribution to the total frequency response of a device can be computed from the real part of its surface wave frequency response.

Fast Fourier transform for estimating process frequency response

2013 IEEE 8th Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA), 2013
This paper discusses the online technique to estimate the process frequency response without breaking the closed-loop control. The extended method of relay feedback using fast Fourier transform (FFT) is measured input and output responses without disconnecting the controller from the loop, which significantly reduces the time required for the ...
