Fast Fourier transform for estimating process frequency response

2013 IEEE 8th Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA), 2013
This paper discusses the online technique to estimate the process frequency response without breaking the closed-loop control. The extended method of relay feedback using fast Fourier transform (FFT) is measured input and output responses without disconnecting the controller from the loop, which significantly reduces the time required for the ...

Event-Driven Fast Frequency Response for Large Active Power Disturbances

2020 IEEE 4th Conference on Energy Internet and Energy System Integration (EI2), 2020
With the rapid development of renewable energy sources, the equivalent inertia of power systems is decreasing, which leads to more drastic dynamic frequency response. This paper proposes an event-driven fast frequency response (EFFR) approach to counter frequency decline after large power disturbances.

Fast response dual-frequency liquid crystal switch with photo-patterned alignments

Optics Letters, 2012
A dual-frequency liquid crystal based optical switch with orthogonally photo-patterned alignments is designed and fabricated. The cell gap is theoretically optimized for high switching performance. The measured extinction ratio of first diffraction order is over 20 dB with a low electric field of 3  V/μm.

Early auditory electric responses to fast amplitude and frequency tone glides

Electroencephalography and Clinical Neurophysiology, 1981
Using the standard far-field technique for auditory brain stem responses early electrical responses have been recorded, evoked by stimulation using brief frequency or amplitude glides of a continuous pure tone of 1 kHz at 60 dB HL. The glide duration was always 1 msec and its magnitude in the range of 50--100% relative frequency change or 5--20 dB ...

Fast Frequency Response From Smart Induction Motor Variable Speed Drives

IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 2020
Using their fast power reduction capabilities, the induction motor variable speed drives can successfully participate in the power system primary frequency control. A new control strategy for fast frequency support from the diode front-end induction motor variable speed drive is presented in this paper.
