A Dialogue on Revolutions and Revolutionaries in Science: A Perspective From Quantum Mechanics

open access: yesNatural Sciences, Volume 6, Issue 3, July 2026.
ABSTRACT We discuss the notions of scientific revolutions and revolutionaries in the context of the Relativity Revolution and of the First, Second, and Third Quantum Revolutions. We conclude that at the core of the question of what qualifies as a revolution and revolutionary is an assessment of the gradients of knowledge accumulation over time, both at

Stability of a Fully Discrete Local Discontinuous Galerkin Method for the Generalized Benjamin–Ono Equation

open access: yesNumerical Methods for Partial Differential Equations, Volume 42, Issue 4, July 2026.
ABSTRACT The main purpose of this paper is to design a fully discrete local discontinuous Galerkin (LDG) scheme for the generalized Benjamin–Ono equation. First, we prove the L2$$ {L}^2 $$‐stability for the proposed semi‐discrete LDG scheme and obtained a suboptimal order of convergence for power nonlinear flux.

Microstructure Engineering Toward High Cost‐Effective Nd–Fe–B Sintered Magnets: A Review

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Nd–Fe–B sintered magnets, critical for enhancing electromechanical conversion efficiency and operational stability in wind turbines and electric vehicle drives, are prized for their outstanding coercivity, high remanence, and superior maximum energy product.

Assessing the Worth of Noble Gas Tracer Concentrations in Alluvial River‐Aquifer Systems Using Data Space Inversion

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 62, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract Alluvial systems are dynamic, structurally complex environments. Groundwater that is extracted from these systems is widely used for domestic consumption. Numerical models play an important role in the management of this extraction. To provide support for decision‐making, models must assimilate data that inform the spatial and temporal ...

Extraction replica method from thinned transmission electron microscopy samples without floating off carbon films: A case study on reduced activation steel

open access: yesJournal of Microscopy, Volume 303, Issue 1, Page 88-100, July 2026.
Abstract A recipe for producing carbon extraction replicas from twin‐jet electropolished disks is described. This technique allows tracking the analysed region with respect to the bulk sample. An example use of the method as applied to a reduced activation ferritic martensitic (RAFM) steel, ‘UK‐RAFM’, is reported.

The Synthetic Edge: Unlocking Superior Performance in High‐Nickel Li‐Rich Layered Oxide Cathodes for Advanced Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 13, Issue 12, 17 June 2026.
Sol‐gel synthesis is shown to produce Ni‐rich Li‐rich layered oxide cathodes with superior phase purity, crystallinity and reduced surface Li2CO3, yielding smaller homogeneous particles. These improvements translate into significantly enhanced electrochemical performance (~200 mAh g−1; 99.5% Coulombic efficiency; 80.6% capacity retention after 500 ...
