A Fast Neutron Fluence Reduction Strategy for Pressure Vessel Lifetime Extension [PDF]
The feasibility of nuclear power plant lifetime extension was examined by the evaluation of fast neutron (>1 MeV) fluence at the reactor pressure vessel (RPV). A fluence reduction option, additional shields installation in outer core structures, was applied to the Kori Unit 1 reactor, and its fluence reduction effect was carefully analyzed.

A Study of the Radiation Tolerance of CVD Diamond to 70 MeV Protons, Fast Neutrons and 200 MeV Pions
We measured the radiation tolerance of commercially available diamonds grown by the Chemical Vapor Deposition process by measuring the charge created by a 120 GeV hadron beam in a 50 μm pitch strip detector fabricated on each diamond sample before and ...

The transporter‐associated BNCT strategy using BBCIP with or without BPA according to tumor transporter characteristics. BPA showed greater efficacy in LAT1‐dominant F98 glioma, whereas BBCIP was more effective in SMVT‐high CRL1666 tumors, suggesting the potential utility of transporter‐based boron carrier selection in BNCT.

Spaceborne and spaceborn: Physiological aspects of pregnancy and birth during interplanetary flight
Abstract Crewed interplanetary return missions that are on the planning horizon will take years, more than enough time for initiation and completion of a pregnancy. Pregnancy is viewed as a sequence of processes – fertilization, blastocyst formation, implantation, gastrulation, placentation, organogenesis, gross morphogenesis, birth and neonatal ...

Correlating Fast Fluence to dpa in Atypical Locations
Damage to a nuclear reactor's materials by high-energy neutrons causes changes in the ductility and fracture toughness of the materials. The reactor vessel and its associated piping's ability to withstand stress without brittle fracture are paramount to ...
