How fat is a fat bundle?

Letters in Mathematical Physics, 1988
If a principal G-bundle \(P\to M\) has connection \(\vartheta\) and curvature \(\theta\), \(\vartheta\) is said to be fat at \(\mu\in {\mathfrak g}\) * if the horizontal real-valued form \(\) is non-degenerate on each horizontal subspace of TP. The set S of points at which \(\vartheta\) is fat is an open G-invariant conic set in \({\mathfrak g ...

Fat Grafting

Facial Plastic Surgery Clinics of North America, 2001
Autologous adipose tissue has been used for tissue augmentation for over a century. The technique still remains controversial and some investigators have given up on fat transfer. The authors' objective is to improve the retention of the fat graft by using less traumatic methods to collect the fat, to concentrate it, and to reinject it to obtain more ...

How fat is fat?

The Lancet, 2012
A man and a woman in their early 50s underwent CT for diff erent clinical indications, unrelated to endocrino logical or metabolic interests. The patients had almost identical sagittal abdominal diameters (supine abdominal height), and similar waist circumferences. Body-mass index (BMI) of the man was 29 kg/m2 and for the woman 32 kg/m2.

Impact of fat substitutes on fat intake

Lipids, 1996
AbstractDietary fat is the number one nutrition concern of Americans. In response to rising consumer demand for reduced‐fat foods, the food industry has developed a multitude of nonfat, lowfat, and reduced‐fat versions of regular food products. To generate reduced‐fat or fat‐free products that have the same organoleptic characteristics of the regular ...

Measurement of Body Fat and Fat Distribution

Journal of Nursing Measurement, 1995
Overweight and obesity are increasing in prevalent and thus an important area for intervention and investigation. Researchers and clinicians have a variety of measurement techniques to assess body fatness and regional fat. These techniques are chosen for their accuracy and precision in light of their cost, convenience, and safety.

Fatness and Fat Patterning

2003
Anthropometric indicators of body fatness and subcutaneous fat distribution were studied in a urban sample of children and adolescents 7 to 19 years and in a rural sample of adults 18 to 74 years of age. The samples were random and comprised 4308 children from the city of Zagreb and 4373 adults from the coastal and insular area of Croatia.
