Fat embolism syndrome is a set of clinical, biological, and radiological manifestations resulting from the obstruction of the microcirculatory vessels by microdroplets of insoluble fats. It is a complication most often observed in the aftermath of polytrauma including several long bones fractures, but it can also occurs outside of any traumatic context.
