Bi-level Hybrid Uncertainty Quantification in Fatigue Analysis: S-N Curve Approach
Due to its physical complexity, fatigue phenomenon inherently presents a significant number of uncertain parameters to be predicted. In uncertainty quantification (UQ), research has demonstrated that even a small variation in uncertain input quantities ...

ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Analysis and design of friction stir welding tool
Since its inception no one has done analysis and design of FSW tool. Initial dimensions of FSW tool are decided by educated guess. Optimum stresses on tool pin have been determined at optimized parameters for bead on plate welding on AZ31B–O Mg alloy ...

Numerical Investigation of Fatigue Behavior of Non-patched and Patched Aluminum/Composite Plates
In this study, the fatigue behavior of composite patched and non-patched Al 5083 aluminum plates was numerically investigated. Al 5083 Aluminum plates with semi-circular notched (2, 3 and 4 mm long cracked) and "V" notched (30°, 45° and 60° angled) were ...

PANoptosis in the pathogenesis of myelodysplastic syndromes
PANoptosis, a combination of three types of programmed cell death, is mediated by a large protein complex called a PANoptosome. In healthy bone marrow hematopoietic cells, PANoptosis is restricted by inhibitory signaling. In MDS, bone marrow cells become sensitive to the PANoptotic stimuli due to the aberrant inactivation of inhibitory signaling or ...

The cell‐autonomous roles of interferon type 1 vary based on duration and intensity. While acute, robust signaling results in cancer cell cytotoxic effects, sustained, low‐level signaling is associated with tumor‐promoting effects. This review summarizes current research of IFN‐1 in cancer and within the clinical setting, with an emphasis on female ...
