Fatigue Analysis of Large-scale Wind turbine

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
The paper does research on top flange fatigue damage of large-scale wind turbine generator. It establishes finite element model of top flange connection system with finite element analysis software MSC.

Multi-level uncertain fatigue analysis of a truss under incomplete available information

open access: yesFracture and Structural Integrity, 2023
The present paper deals with the prediction of the fatigue life of a planar tubular truss, when geometrical parameters, material properties, and live loads are non-deterministic.

Effects of Laryngeal Restriction on Pharyngeal Peristalsis and Biomechanics: Clinical Implications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
To date, rehabilitative exercises aimed at strengthening the pharyngeal muscles have not been developed due to the inability to successfully overload and fatigue these muscles during their contraction, a necessary requirement for strength training.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

An Evaluation of Techroll Seal Flexible Joint Material [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
This study evaluated the materials utilized in the flexible joint for possible failure modes. Studies undertaken included effect of temperature on the strength of the system, effect of fatigue on the strength of the system, thermogravimetric analysis ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Creep-fatigue analysis by Strainrange Partitioning [PDF]

open access: yes, 1973
Strainrange Partitioning provides unifying framework for characterizing high-temperature, low-cycle, creep-fatigue properties of metals and alloys. Method offers distinct advantage to designers of immediately providing reliable upper and lower bounds on ...

Re‐Awakening Public Attention to the Silent Pandemic of Cancer Among Older Adults in Low‐ and Middle‐Income Countries

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT As global populations age, cancer is increasingly becoming a leading cause of morbidity and mortality among older adults, particularly in low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs). Despite accounting for the majority of new cancer cases and deaths, older individuals remain underrepresented in cancer research, clinical guidelines, and health ...

Stress Intensity Factor Equations for the Evolution of Surface and Corner Cracks to Through Cracks

open access: yesFracture and Structural Integrity, 2019
Part-through surface or corner 2D cracks are commonly found in structural components, even because practically all fatigue cracks tend to start this way.

Barriers to Investment Abroad as Tools of Payments Policy [PDF]

open access: yes, 1969
The thesis examines the fatigue life of weld ends, where very little usable research previously has been conducted, and often the weld ends are the critical parts of the weld.
