Fatigue Life Assessment of Key Fatigue Details of the Corroded Weathering-Steel Anchor Boxes of a Cable-Stayed Bridge

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
In order to study the influence of corrosion on the fatigue life of weathering steel bridges, firstly the nominal stress method is employed to identify the key fatigue details of a typical weathering-steel anchor box of a cable-stayed bridge and then, a ...

Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) in a Patient With Compound Heterozygous OPA1 Variants: Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) is a rare, life‐threatening neurological emergency with unclear etiology in many cases. Mitochondrial dysfunction, often due to disease‐causing genetic variants, is increasingly recognized as a cause, with each gene producing distinct pathophysiological mechanisms.

Remote Assessment of Ataxia Severity in SCA3 Across Multiple Centers and Time Points

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3) is a genetically defined ataxia. The Scale for Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) is a clinician‐reported outcome that measures ataxia severity at a single time point. In its standard application, SARA fails to capture short‐term fluctuations, limiting its sensitivity in trials.

Clustering Algorithm Reveals Dopamine‐Motor Mismatch in Cognitively Preserved Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To explore the relationship between dopaminergic denervation and motor impairment in two de novo Parkinson's disease (PD) cohorts. Methods n = 249 PD patients from Parkinson's Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI) and n = 84 from an external clinical cohort.

TS SPECIMEN LIFE PREDICTION OF HIGH-STRENGTH STEEL RESISTANCE SPOT WELDS

open access: yesJixie qiangdu, 2016
The plastic zone in crack tip influences life prediction result when using crack propagation method to predict fatigue life of spot welds. Most of the methods used to predict fatigue life don’t take plasticity into consideration.

Fatigue and Corrosion Fatigue Life Assessment With Application to Autofrettaged Parts [PDF]

open access: yesVolume 5: High-Pressure Technology; ASME Nondestructive Evaluation, Diagnosis and Prognosis Division (NDPD); Rudy Scavuzzo Student Paper Symposium and 26th Annual Student Paper Competition, 2018
This study investigates an effect of autofrettage on the fatigue and corrosion fatigue life of high pressure parts made from low carbon structural steel. To estimate the beneficial effect of autofrettage application, an extensive experimental program and advanced theoretical modelling are conducted and analyzed in this study.

Value of MRI Outcomes for Preventive and Early‐Stage Trials in Spinocerebellar Ataxias 1 and 3

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the value of MRI outcomes as endpoints for preventive and early‐stage trials of two polyglutamine spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs). Methods A cohort of 100 participants (23 SCA1, 63 SCA3, median Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) score = 5, 42% preataxic, and 14 gene‐negative controls) was scanned at 3T up ...

Prediction of flexural fatigue life and failure probability of normal weight concrete

open access: yesMateriales de Construccion, 2022
Fatigue life has to be considered in the design of many concrete structures at various stress levels and stress ratios. Many flexural fatigue test results of plain normal-weight concrete are available in the literature and almost every set of test ...

Validity of a Wearable Digital Insole for Assessing Gait ON and OFF in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Gait impairment is a distinctive symptom of Parkinson's disease that negatively impact mobility. We assessed the validity of wearable digital insoles against a validated reference gait analysis system for measuring select gait characteristics in patients with Parkinson's disease. Methods A comparative analysis between digital insoles
