Fatigue Life Prediction of Half-Shaft Using the Strain-Life Method

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2020
Fatigue life prediction is an important part of the reliability and durability analysis of automobile components. Based on Wang and Brown’s framework, multiaxial random fatigue damage was adopted to predict the fatigue life of half-shaft.

FATIGUE LIFE PREDICTION IN BENDING FROM AXIAL FATIGUE INFORMATION [PDF]

open access: yesFatigue & Fracture of Engineering Materials & Structures, 1987
AbstractBending fatigue in the low cyclic life range differs from axial fatigue due to the plastic flow which alters the linear stress‐strain relation normally used to determine the nominal stresses. An approach is presented in this report to take into account the plastic flow in calculating nominal bending stress Sbending based on true surface stress.

Parent Quality of Life at Two Years Following Their Child's Completion of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Treatment

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Parents of children treated for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) often experience significant caregiver burden and disruption to their well‐being. While parent quality of life (QoL) during treatment is well characterized, little is known about outcomes during early survivorship.

Fatigue life prediction in composites [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Pressure Vessels and Piping, 1994
Because of the relatively large number of possible failure mechanisms in fibre reinforced composite materials, the prediction of fatigue life in a component is not a simple process. Several mathematical and statistical models have been proposed, but the experimental evidence to support them is limited so far.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Fretting Fatigue Life Prediction for Aluminum Alloy Based on Particle-Swarm-Optimized Back Propagation Neural Network

open access: yesMetals
Fretting fatigue is a specific fatigue phenomenon. Due to the complex mechanisms and multitude of influencing factors, it is still hard to predict fretting fatigue life accurately, despite there being many works on this topic.

A deep learning-based method for predicting the low-cycle fatigue life of austenitic stainless steel

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2023
In modern engineering, predicting the fatigue life of materials is crucial for safety assessment. The relationship between fatigue life and its influencing factors is difficult to predict by traditional methods, and deep learning can achieve great power ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
