Structure analysis, fatigue testing, and lifetime prediction of composite steels
Mechanics of Composite Materials, 1998Composite steels prepared by technology of powder metallurgy are widely used as low cost parts with good resistance to wear, fracture, and corrosion. The development of powder composite steels is directly related to strength under vibration, fatigue stabilizing, and accurate lifetime prediction for actual composite topology.

Lifetime prediction for thermal fatigue: development of a stochastic model
1992Crack patterns originating from thermal fatigue loading of an austenitic steel plate are evaluated in order to obtain characteristics which allow a model-based stochastic simulation of the developing crack patterns. As a first step, it is shown in this paper how crack geometries can be derived from the experimental results.

Thermal-Mechanical Fatigue Lifetime Prediction of an Austenitic Stainless Steel
1993In-phase and out-of-phase low-cycle thermal-mechanical fatigue tests were carried out on 316L austenitic stainless steel specimens controlled by computer. A nonlinear kinematic hardening model with internal variables was developed to describe the cyclic stress strain behavior of thermal-mechanical fatigue and a very good approximation of the hysteresis

Lifetime prediction on stainless steel components under thermal fatigue load
2002Abstract Thermal fatigue of austenitic and ferritic stainless steel grades has been experimentally and numerically investigated. A special test has been developed to determine the thermal fatigue resistance of clamped V-shape specimen. Examination of the failed specimens indicated that cracks could be mainly attributed to out-of-phase thermal fatigue

Lifetime prediction and constitutive modelling for creep-fatigue interaction
1996The phenomena of creep, fatigue and creep-fatigue interaction in metallic materials are reviewed and studied with respect to the underlying physical processes. Different approaches and methods of lifetime prediction for the regime of creep-fatigue interaction are critically reviewed, particularly form the point of view of damage mechanics.
