A desktop environment for assessment of fault diagnosis based fault tolerant flight control laws

open access: yes, 2008
We present a simulation based software environment conceived to allow an easy assessment of fault diagnosis based fault tolerant control techniques. The new tool is primary intended for the development of advanced flight control applications with fault ...

A Survey on Energy Harvesting and Integrated Data Sharing in Wireless Body Area Networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2015
Wireless body area networks (WBANs) are important branches of wireless sensor networks (WSNs). They promise unobtrusive ambulatory health monitoring for real-time updates of patients' medical records that have aroused extensive attention in various ...

A Multi-Objective Hybrid Cloud Resource Scheduling Method Based on Deadline and Cost Constraints

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
We propose a task-oriented multi-objective scheduling method based on ant colony optimization (MOSACO) to optimize the finite pool of public and private computing resources in a hybrid cloud computing environment according to deadline and cost ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Fault estimation and fault-tolerant control for discrete-time dynamic systems

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper, a novel discrete-time estimator is proposed, which is employed for simultaneous estimation of system states, and actuator/sensor faults in a discrete-time dynamic system.

A Fault Injection Environment for Microprocessor-based Board [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Evaluating the faulty behaviour of low-cost microprocessor-based boards is an increasingly important issue, due to their usage in many safety critical systems. To address this issue, the paper describes a software-implemented fault injection system based

Ferroelectrically switched valley-dependent transmission in SnTe-PbTe-SnTe monolayer lateral heterostructures

open access: yesNature Communications
A special class of valleytronic two-dimensional (2D) semiconductors possesses carrier pockets (i.e., valleys) along certain directions in the first Brillouin zone, which can be applied as a new degree of freedom for information storage and processing ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Memory Fault Simulator for Static-Linked Faults [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Static linked faults are considered an interesting class of memory faults. Their capability of influencing the behavior of other faults causes the hiding of the fault effect and makes test algorithm design and validation a very complex task.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...
