A New Scheme for Fault Detection and Classification Applied to DC Motor

open access: yesTrends in Computational and Applied Mathematics, 2018
This study presents an approach for fault detection and classification in a DC drive system. The fault is detected by a classical Luenberger observer. After the fault detection, the fault classification is started.

Power System Fault Classification and Prediction Based on a Three-Layer Data Mining Structure

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In traditional fault diagnosis methods in power systems, it is difficult to accurately classify and predict the types of faults. With the emergence of big data technology, the fault classification and prediction methods based on big data analysis and ...

A Multi-Task-Based Deep Multi-Scale Information Fusion Method for Intelligent Diagnosis of Bearing Faults

open access: yesMachines, 2023
The use of deep learning for fault diagnosis is already a common approach. However, integrating discriminative information of fault types and scales into deep learning models for rich multitask fault feature diagnosis still deserves attention.

A Fault Diagnosis Model for Rotating Machinery Using VWC and MSFLA-SVM Based on Vibration Signal Analysis

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2019
Fault diagnosis of rotating machinery mainly includes fault feature extraction and fault classification. Vibration signal from the operation of machinery usually could help diagnosing the operational state of equipment.

Machine Fault Classification Using Hamiltonian Neural Networks

open access: yesProceedings of the 12th International Conference on Pattern Recognition Applications and Methods, 2023
A new approach is introduced to classify faults in rotating machinery based on the total energy signature estimated from sensor measurements. The overall goal is to go beyond using black-box models and incorporate additional physical constraints that govern the behavior of mechanical systems.

A Sparsity-Assisted Fault Diagnosis Method Based on Nonconvex Sparse Regularization

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Sparse representation theory can be adopted for fault feature extraction and classification. Inspired by these two capabilities of sparse representation theory, this paper proposes a novel collaborative sparsity-assisted fault diagnosis (CSFD) method ...

Protection of parallel transmission lines including inter-circuit faults using Naïve Bayes classifier

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2016
Parallel transmission lines are difficult to protect due to mutual coupling between circuits. This paper proposes a Naïve Bayes classifier (NBC) based fault detection and classification technique for protection of parallel transmission line involving ...

Classification of fault breccias and related fault rocks

open access: yesGeological Magazine, 2008
AbstractDespite extensive research on fault rocks, and on their commercial importance, there is no non-genetic classification of fault breccias that can easily be applied in the field. The present criterion for recognizing fault breccia as having no ‘primary cohesion’ is often difficult to assess. Instead we propose that fault breccia should be defined,

Generator Fault Classification Method Based on Multi-Source Information Fusion Naive Bayes Classification Algorithm

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
The existing motor fault classification methods mostly use sensors to detect a single fault feature, which makes it difficult to ensure high diagnostic accuracy.
