Fault Current Limiter Dynamic Voltage Restorer (FCL-DVR) With Reduced Number of Components [PDF]
In this paper, a new dual function fault current limiter-dynamic voltage restorer (FCL-DVR) topology is proposed. The proposed structure, in addition to performing routine FCL tasks, can be used to improve the voltage quality of point of common coupling (PCC).

Distributed generation adverse impact on the distribution networks protection and its mitigation [PDF]
Integration of Distributed Generation (DG) generates problems for the protection of Distribution Networks (DNs) in power systems. When DG is integrated into a power distribution system (DS), the radial nature of the network is altered and the power ...

Protection of Sensitive Loads in Distribution Systems Using a BSFCL-DVR System [PDF]
In this paper, an incorporated bridge-type superconducting fault current limiter (BSFCL) and Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) is presented to improve the voltage quality and limiting fault current problems in distribution systems. In order to achieve these

Control Design for a Power Electronic Based Fault Current Limiter (FCL)
This paper shows a solution for controlling shortcircuit currents of a power electronic based Fault Current Limiter (FCL). A model for control design of three-phase short-circuit currents will be presented. A way of limiting the maximum aperiodic short-circuit current is derived with special regards to the stability of the entire system.

Control Strategies for a Power Electronic Based Fault Current Limiter (FCL) in No-Fault Operation
Fault current limiters (FCL) in electrical power systems offer the opportunity to reduce short-circuit stresses to the system in the case of faults. But as electrical power systems are normally operated without faults most of the time, FCLs must not have negative effects during these periods of normal operation.

LVRT capability enhancement of DFIG based wind turbine with coordination control of dynamic voltage restorer and inductive fault current limiter. [PDF]
According to the coordination control of a dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) and an inductive fault current limiter (FCL), this paper proposes an efficient low-voltage ride-through (LVRT) scheme for a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) based wind turbine.

We recently proposed a new design for a high-temperature superconducting thin-film fault-current limiter (FCL), which uses high-resistivity Au-Ag alloy shunt layers instead of the pure gold (or silver) shunt layers conventionally used. Due to the much larger resistance of the Au-Ag alloy layers, the FCL elements withstood very high electric fields ...

A practical study of the 66‐kV fault current limiter (FCL) system with rectifier
AbstractA fault current limiter (FCL) is extensively expected to suppress fault current, particularly required for a trunk power system's heavily connected high‐voltage transmission lines, such as the 500‐kV‐class power system which constitutes the nucleus of the electric power system.

Analytical Modeling of Rotary Electromagnetic Fault Current Limiter
Rotary electromagnetic fault current limiter (FCL) is an emerging technology for limiting fault currents in the power network. The device consists of two movable air-core spherical reactor rings (i.e., inner and outer rings).
