Fault Indicators of Partial Discharges in Medium-Voltage Systems

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2013
The safety and reliability of the electricity system, these are the two basic keywords present in the energy sector. One of the ways to improve the overall security of the electricity system is to reduce the failure rate of transmission lines.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Model-based fault detection and isolation for wind turbine

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper, a quantitative model based method is proposed for early fault detection and diagnosis of wind turbines. The method is based on designing an observer using a model of the system. The observer innovation signal is monitored to detect faults.

Research on the improved hybrid DC circuit breaker with voltage-limiting and current-limiting capability

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
The DC circuit breaker (DCCB) is a critical device that ensures the safe and reliable operation of the DC transmission system. As the level of DC voltage and transmission power increases, the flexible DC grid will need more and more opening capacity of ...

The Influence of Satellite Configuration and Fault Duration Time on the Performance of Fault Detection in GNSS/INS Integration

open access: yesSensors, 2019
For the integration of global navigation satellite system (GNSS) and inertial navigation system (INS), real-time and accurate fault detection is essential to enhance the reliability and precision of the system.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Synthesis of robust gain scheduling based fault detection filters for a class of parameter uncertain nonlinear systems

open access: yes, 2011
We discuss the solution of the fault detection problem for parameter uncertain nonlinear systems using a gain scheduling based approach. By using a set of linearized plant models, a set of least order linear fault detection filters is determined to serve

Research on primary frequency regulation and VSC-HVDC frequency synchronization control coordination method for large-scale hydropower DC export regional grid

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
In asynchronous grid connection mode, the rotational inertia of the partitioned synchronized grid decreases, leading to prominent frequency stability issues.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Fault section location of collector lines based on phase comparison of zero-sequence current using the Kaiser window

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
To address the limitations of existing single-phase grounding fault location methods for collector lines in wind farms, especially their insufficient adaptability to multi-branch topologies, this paper proposes a fault section location method based on ...
