A robust fault detection method of rolling bearings using modulation signal bispectrum analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Envelope analysis is a widely used method for bearing fault detection. To obtain high detection accuracy, it is critical to select an optimal narrowband for envelope demodulation.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Fault location in the observation matrix of collection lines for grid-connected wind power supported by grid-forming energy storage

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
Aiming at the problem that the accuracy of fault location in the collection line supported by energy storage for wind power grid connection is easily affected by the number of measurement points and the access of power electronic equipment, a fault ...

Encoders and fault detection

open access: yes2003 European Control Conference (ECC), 2003
Monitoring large-scale systems is of fundamental importance in modern infrastructures. Many of these large-scale systems are complex interconnections of sub-components which interact by means of communication channels with limited bandwidth. Therefore the information must be encoded in order to be transmitted.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Active arc suppression method for voltage-current injection coordination in unbalanced distribution networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
The challenge of extinguishing arc grounding faults persists as cable-based distribution networks become more prevalent. Current single injection arc extinction methods struggle to effectively mitigate arc grounding faults in unbalanced distribution ...

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Fault section location of collector lines based on phase comparison of zero-sequence current using the Kaiser window

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
To address the limitations of existing single-phase grounding fault location methods for collector lines in wind farms, especially their insufficient adaptability to multi-branch topologies, this paper proposes a fault section location method based on ...

Immunotronics - novel finite-state-machine architectures with built-in self-test using self-nonself differentiation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
A novel approach to hardware fault tolerance is demonstrated that takes inspiration from the human immune system as a method of fault detection. The human immune system is a remarkable system of interacting cells and organs that protect the body from ...
