Fault identification in nonlinear dynamic systems
2016 5th International Conference on Systems and Control (ICSC), 2016This paper considers a problem of fault detection, isolation and identification of its values in mechatronic systems described by nonlinear dynamic models. To solve this problem logic-dynamic approach and special feedback by residual signal is suggested.

Fault detection and identification using FIRFMS
International Journal of General Systems, 2007This paper deals with two of the main tasks of fault monitoring systems (FMS): fault detection and fault identification. During fault detection, the FMS should recognize that the plant behavior is abnormal, and therefore, that the plant is not working properly. During fault identification, the FMS should conclude which type of failure has occurred. The

Fault identification and routing in Benes networks
Journal of Systems Architecture, 1996Abstract An N × N Benes network B ( n ) ( n = log 2 N ), being a rearrangeable network, can realize any N × N permutation in a single pass. But even in the presence of a single switch fault in B ( n ), two passes are necessary to realize any N × N permutation. In this paper, we attempt to characterize the switch fault sets in B ( n )

Fault Identification Techniques
2013Fault identification can be considered as an important objective of a fault diagnosis framework. The identification result helps fault isolation through comparing the estimated parameter values with their nominal ones. In addition, the estimated size of faults can provide useful information to achieve fault tolerant control.

Nonlinear Multiscale Fault Detection and Identification
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2006Abstract A nonlinear multiscale multivariate statistical process control method is proposed to address fault detection and diagnosis issues at different scales in nonlinear processes. A kernel principal component analysis (KPCA) model is built with the reconstructed data obtained by performing wavelet transform and inverse wavelet transform ...

Identification of redundant faults.
2009This thesis presents a redundancy identification (RI) method, namely, the Improved Structure Based (ISB) method, which identifies redundant faults in logic circuits. Redundant faults are those faults that are found not detectable by any test pattern in the process of automatic test pattern generation (ATPG) because they do not affect the normal circuit

Novel Coding for PON Fault Identification
IEEE Communications Letters, 2011In this paper we propose a novel simple periodic optical encoder for centralized fault monitoring of fiber-to-the-X (FTTX) passive optical networks (PONs). This optical encoder exploits a fiber ring with a different length for each distribution/drop fiber to produce a different periodic code.

Distributed fault identification in telecommunication networks
Journal of Network and Systems Management, 1995Telecommunications networks are often managed by a large number of management centers, each responsible for a logically autonomous part of the network. This could be a small subnetwork such as an Ethernet, a Token Ring or an FDDI ring, or a large subnetwork comprising many smaller networks. In response to a single fault in a telecommunications network,

Sub-faults identification for collapsing in diagnosis
2006 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2006This paper presents a new way of fault collapsing called dominance with sub-faults(DSF) collapsing. The proposed approach reduces the number of tests required to diagnose a fault. Experimental results on the ISCAS'85 benchmarks demonstrate the impact of the proposed method over the traditional fault collapsing method.

Automatic alarm correlation for fault identification
Proceedings of INFOCOM'95, 2002In communication networks, a large number of alarms exist to signal any abnormal behavior of the network. As network faults typically result in a number of alarms, correlating these different alarms and identifying their source is a major problem in fault management. The alarm correlation problem is of major practical significance. Alarms that have not
