Fault Ride-Through Criteria Development

2014
Wind energy integration into transmission systems has been accelerated by establishing robust grid codes relevant to the network. Fault Ride-Through (FRT) criteria is one of them, which requires generation to stay connected to transmission system under certain operational voltage envelope.

Wind-turbine fault ride-through enhancement

2006 IEEE Power Engineering Society General Meeting, 2006
Summary form only given. Fault ride-through specifications listed in modern transmission and distribution grid codes specify that wind-turbine generators (WTGs) must remain connected to electricity networks at voltage levels well below nominal. Achieving reliable operation at greatly reduced voltage levels is proving problematic.

Fault Ride Through and Fault Current Management for Microgrids

2020
Over the recent years, the distributed energy resource (DER) generation and integration with utility grid became the most widely used worldwide. Thereon, the integration of distributed energy resources to the power grid and their dynamics during grid faults had become a critical issue in the new grid code requirements. In line with this, the fault ride

Fault Ride Through Capability for Solar Inverters

EPE Journal, 2012
AbstractA solar inverter for utility scale has been developed in this paper, and the inverter has fault ride through (FRT) capability, which is now discussed in Japan and similar to requirement in U.S.A and Europe. This solar inverter consists of a boost chopper and a three-phase 2-level inverter, and the capacity covers from 20 kW to 600 kW.

Fault Ride-Through trip curves

2012 IEEE Power and Energy Society General Meeting, 2012
Over the past decade, new requirements have been proposed and implemented for Fault Ride Through, including a proposed NERC standard that would impose fault ride through requirements on all generation. Most existing fault ride through curves are used in the wind industry.

Fault Ride-Through for Hydrogen Electrolyzers

IEEE PES Innovative Smart Grid Technologies Conference Europe
This paper investigates the Fault Ride-Through (FRT) capability of a Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolyzer system supported by Supercapacitor (SC) energy storage under symmetrical fault conditions. Three configurations are analyzed: a baseline case
