Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.

Distribution and gas exploration of the strike–slip faults in the central Sichuan Basin

open access: yesNatural Gas Industry B, 2022
The Sichuan Basin has abundant oil and gas resources and it has been generally acknowledged as a super petroliferous basin. In recent years, immense exploration and development potential of deep natural gas emerges in the Sichuan Basin.

A Workflow to Accelerate Microstructure‐Sensitive Fatigue Life Predictions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a workflow to accelerate predictions of microstructure‐sensitive fatigue life. Results from frameworks with varying levels of simplification are benchmarked against published reference results. The analysis reveals a trade‐off between accuracy and model complexity, offering researchers a practical guide for selecting the optimal ...

Experimental Investigation of the Effect of Fault Reactivation Induced by Water Injection

open access: yesApplied Sciences
An understanding of fault reactivation induced by water injection is of great significance for geothermal energy development and utilization. We conducted a series of water injection shear tests on low-permeability granite samples that each contained a ...

Estimation of present-day inter-seismic deformation in Kopili fault zone of north-east India using GPS measurements

open access: yesGeomatics, Natural Hazards & Risk, 2016
Current study reports the present-day inter-seismic deformation of Kopili fault zone of north-east India and slip rate estimate of Kopili fault using five epochs of global positioning system (GPS) data collected from seven campaigns and five permanent ...

Transfer of Energy and Momentum Between Magnetoactive Surface Microstructure and a Solid Object

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate that magnetoactive multilamellar arrays subjected to a rotating magnetic field can function as platforms for controlled transport of physical objects. Through systematic experimental investigation, we elucidate the underlying physical mechanisms determining the upper limit of the achievable transportation speed in such magnetic “conveyor‐

Curved Fault Slip Captured by CCTV Video During the 2025  7.7 Myanmar Earthquake

open access: yesThe Seismic Record
On-fault geological observations from surface-breaking earthquakes typically contain curved slickenlines, suggesting fault slip is curved. However, slickenlines commonly record only a fraction of coseismic slip, making it difficult to reconstruct the ...

Latest Pleistocene–Holocene Incremental Slip Rates of the Wairau Fault: Implications for Long‐Distance and Long‐Term Coordination of Faulting Between North and South Island, New Zealand

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, 2021
We use high‐resolution lidar microtopographic data and luminescence dating to constrain incremental Holocene–latest Pleistocene slip rates for the Wairau fault, a major dextral strike‐slip fault in the Marlborough Fault System, South Island, New Zealand.

Stability estimates for the fault inverse problem

open access: yes, 2018
We study in this paper stability estimates for the fault inverse problem. In this problem, faults are assumed to be planar open surfaces in a half space elastic medium with known Lam\'e coefficients.
