Acute Near-Fatal Parainfectious Cerebellar Swelling with Favourable Outcome
Neuropediatrics, 1997The clinical course, neuro-imaging features and neuropathologic findings in a child with para-infectious acute cerebellar swelling are described. Reversible transtentorial and transforaminal herniations occurred and required emergency posterior fossa decompression with external ventricular drainage.

Postpartum Pulmonary Embolectomy; a Surgical Challenge and Favourable Outcome
The Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeon, 1997A 23-year-old female underwent uneventful caesarian section, which was followed by massive pulmonary embolism. Pulmonary embolectomy on cardiopulmonary bypass was performed, and was complicated by massive intraabdominal haemorrhage due to a hepatic subcapsular rupture.

Favourable outcome in non-traumatic anterior interosseous nerve lesions
Journal of Neurology, 1993Six patients with non-traumatic anterior interosseous nerve palsy are described. In five patients the onset was acute with upper arm pain, which peaked within 4 weeks and thereafter declined. Virtually complete spontaneous recovery occurred in all patients between 9 and 24 months.

[Amniotic embolism with favourable outcome].
Annales francaises d'anesthesie et de reanimation, 1994A 31-year-old multiparous pregnant woman forced into labour with oxytocin, suffered a sudden circulatory collapse and, after the birth of her child, a defibrination syndrome with uterine haemorrhage. In the absence of a local cause, either placental or cervico-uterine, a diagnosis of amniotic fluid embolism was made.

Neonatal haemochromatosis: report of a patient with favourable outcome
European Journal of Pediatrics, 1997A male newborn was referred on the 2nd day of life because of suspected sepsis. The child became comatose and ventilator dependent owing to progressive hepatic failure with hyperammonaemia. Diagnostic studies revealed an highly elevated ferritin level.

European Journal of Pediatrics, 2007Munchausen by proxy syndrome (MBPS) is a form of child abuse wherein the mother fabricates or produces illness in her child. The condition is hard to diagnose and few successful interventions have been described. Long-term outcome is associated with high family disruption, reabuse, mortality and morbidity.
