Transfer of Perceptual Learning From Local Stereopsis to Global Stereopsis in Adults With Amblyopia: A Preliminary Study

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2021
It has long been debated whether the analysis of global and local stereoscopic depth is performed by a single system or by separate systems. Global stereopsis requires the visual system to solve a complex binocular matching problem to obtain a coherent ...

Stereopsis and ageing [PDF]

open access: yesEye, 1992
This study reports the prevalence of defective stereopsis in an elderly population. Of 728 individuals over the age of 65 who attempted a Frisby stereotest, only 27% had full stereopsis and 29% had no stereopsis. In the elderly population defective stereopsis is a common finding in the absence of any other ocular morbidity.

Effects on Stereopsis Under Different Lighting Conditions [PDF]

open access: yesBritish and Irish Orthoptic Journal
Introduction: Stereopsis is the ability to perceive depth through binocular vision. Artificial lighting conditions play a significant role in visual performance, yet their specific effects on stereopsis remain poorly understood.

Extended stereopsis evaluation of professional and amateur soccer players and subjects without soccer background

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2014
Stereopsis is one of several visual depth cues. It has been evaluated for athletes of different types of sports in the past. However, most studies do not cover the full range of stereopsis performance.

Assessment of the effects of induced anisometropia on binocularity with glasses-free 3D technique [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Ophthalmology, 2023
AIM: To assess the effect of experimentally induced anisometropia on binocularity in normal adults with glasses-free three-dimensional (3D) technique. METHODS: Totally 54 healthy medical students with normal binocularity in the cross-sectional study were

Role of improved distance and near visual acuity with low vision aids to enhance stereopsis in retinal diseases

open access: yesIndian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2021
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine role of improved distance and near best-corrected visual acuity (DBCVA and NBCVA) with use of magnification devices to enhance stereopsis in low vision (LV) subjects having retinal diseases. Methods: In a

Cognitive functions and stereopsis in patients with Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease using 3-dimensional television: a case controlled trial. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
Stereopsis or depth perception is an awareness of the distances of objects from the observer, and binocular disparity is a necessary component of recognizing objects through stereopsis.

Evaluation of the Relationship Between Aniseikonia and Stereopsis Using a New Method

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine, 2022
PurposeTo investigate the influence of induced aniseikonia on stereopsis measured by contour-based and random-dot-based stereograms using a new method.MethodsUnlike previous studies in which aniseikonia was induced using magnifiers, which potentially ...
