FCC–HCP phase boundary in lead

Solid State Communications, 2002
Abstract The pressure–temperature phase diagram of Pb was mapped from synchrotron X-ray diffraction data measured to 40 GPa and 800 K, in the region including the hexagonal-close-packed to face-centered cubic transformation; the corresponding p–T–V equations of state were fitted for both phases.

Phase diagrams of FCC alloy films

Physica B: Condensed Matter, 2006
Abstract We have studied the order–disorder phase transitions of FCC alloy thin films in the (0 0 1) direction using the mean-field method. Surface field is used to describe the surface effects such as surface segregation. All the different types of the phase diagrams of alloy thin films under the surface field are calculated.

Martensitic phase transformation and lattice dynamics of fcc cobalt

Physical Review B, 1996
The phonon dispersion of the high-temperature fcc phase of pure cobalt has been measured by inelastic neutron scattering at 833 K. Transverse phonon branches were measured above and below the Martensitic hcp-fcc transformation in order to learn about an influence of lattice dynamics, if any.

Ferromagnetic phases of bcc and fcc Fe, Co, and Ni

Physical Review B, 1986
The different magnetic phases of the bcc and fcc forms of Fe, Co, and Ni are studied by analyzing total-energy surfaces in moment-volume parameter space obtained from energy-band calculations using a local-spin-density approximation. The surfaces, found by calculating total energies while holding both the magnetic moment and the volume fixed, offer a ...

Is blue phase II fcc?

Physical Review Letters, 1987

First-order phase transition in the fcc Heisenberg antiferromagnet

Physical Review B, 1989
The nature of the phase transition of the nearest-neighbor Heisenberg antiferromagnet on a fcc lattice is studied by means of Monte Carlo simulations. Using a finite-size scaling, the transition is shown to be unambiguously of first order. Evidence for a first-order transition in the corresponding XY model is also presented.

Phase transition in type-1 fcc Ising antiferromagnets

Physical Review B, 1989
We have used Monte Carlo simulations to investigate an Ising system on the fcc lattice, with antiferromagnetic first-neighbor interactions (${J}_{1}$) and ferromagnetic second-neighbor interactions (${J}_{2}$) (type-1 antiferromagnet). Our results indicate that the transition remains first order for the ratio ${J}_{2}$/\ensuremath{\Vert}${J}_{1 ...

FCC → SC phase transition in alkali halides

Solid State Communications, 1980
Abstract The NaCl → CsCl structural pressure transformation is studied using a new interionic potential. The theoretical transition pressures are in good agreement with experiment.

Stability of fcc phase FeH to 137 GPa

American Mineralogist, 2020
Abstract We examined the crystal structure of FeHX (X~1) (FeH hereafter) at high pressure and temperature by X-ray diffraction up to 137 GPa. Results show that FeH adopts a face-centered cubic (fcc) structure at pressures of 43 to 137 GPa and temperatures of ~1000 to 2000 K.

Phase stability of fcc alloys with the embedded-atom method

Physical Review B, 1990
The heats of solution of disordered phases and several stoichiometric compounds have been determined for 12 binary alloys of fcc metals using an analytic embedded-atom-method model with no adjustable parameters. The cohesive energy, vacancy formation energy, lattice constant, bulk modulus, and average shear modulus for each metal are used as input data,
