Thermal and Elastic Properties of C60 in Fcc Phase

SOP Transactions on Theoretical Physics, 2014
In the present decade, considerable interest has been taken in the investigation of anharmonic properties of materials of various kinds [1, 2]. Many workers have contributed in the field through their experimental and theoretical approach. Several efforts have been made in the study of physical and anharmonic properties of solids of different types [3 ...

Gas phase synthesis of fcc-cobalt nanoparticles

Journal of Materials Chemistry, 2006
Air stable cobalt nanoparticles have been prepared continuously at a production rate of 30 g h−1 by a modified flame synthesis method under highly reducing conditions. Nanoparticles of 20–60 nm in diameter consisted of metallic face-centered-cubic cobalt.

Phase structure of the FCC quartet Ising model

Physics Letters A, 1982
Abstract The phase structure of an Ising model with four-spin interactions defined on an FCC lattice is determined by Monte Carlo techniques. Our results show that this system undergoes a single, first order transition at the self-dual point. This resolves previous mutually contradictory conclusions which have been drawn about this model.

Surface first-order phase transitions in fcc Ising ferromagnets

Physical Review Letters, 1987
The critical behavior of (111) surfaces in an fcc Ising ferromagnet is studied by means of the cluster variation method in the tetrahedron approximation. The critical value of the surface interaction ${\mathrm{J}}_{\mathrm{sc}}$ leading to a surface transition temperature larger than in the bulk is equal to 1.778${\mathrm{J}}_{\mathrm{b}}$.

Direct observation of antiferromagnetic phase transition in fcc Fe films

Physical Review B, 1997
Spin-polarized low-energy electron diffraction combined with in situ Kerr magnetometry and a model calculation indicates that a six monolayer thick fcc Fe film undergoes a reversible transition from a room-temperature paramagnetic state to a low-temperature phase including antiferromagnetically coupled planes.

Uniaxial phase of alkali metals on a fcc (100) metal surface

Physical Review B, 1992
The overlayer phases of alkali metals on a fcc (100) surface are modeled by simple dipole moment interactors on a modulated potential surface.

Phase stability of carbon in FCC and BCC metals

Calphad, 1988
Abstract The Metal-Carbon interaction parameter was calculated from the binary systems Cr-C, Mn-C, Ni-C, Co-C, V-C, and the ternary systems Cr-Fe-C, Mn-Fe-C, Ni-Fe-C, Co-Fe-C, V-Fe-C, V-Cr-C as was done for Fe-C. In all cases the excess Gibbs energy of mixing can be expressed as Gm,ex = W3(x−x3), where W is the interaction parameter, and x is the ...

Some Remarks on the fcc-fct Phase Transformation in InTl Alloys

Mathematics and Mechanics of Solids, 2009
Zimmer and collaborators have recently proposed an alternative approach to Landau’s for phase transformations, in which they replace the energy expression in terms of polynomials, a stiff family of functions, with one in terms of more flexible functions, for instance certain splines.
