UTRA FDD Mode

2002
This chapter provides a detailed description of the UTRA FDD mode. In the first section the key parameters are listed as a reference. A short section on the system architecture, the layer structure of the radio interface and its interworking with higher layers, and the bearer services provided in UMTS follows.

Deep PCA-Based FDD Methods

2020
This chapter develops a real-time incipient FDD method named deep PCA (DPCA) for traction systems in high-speed trains. This scheme adopting multivariate statistics is composed of multiple data processing layers to extract more accurate signal features of traction systems.

MIMO performance in UTRA FDD uplink

Eighth IEEE International Symposium on Spread Spectrum Techniques and Applications - Programme and Book of Abstracts (IEEE Cat. No.04TH8738), 2005
We examine the uplink performance of MIMO systems in UTRA FDD mode using analytical tools and simulations. Results show that the uplink performance of the UTRA FDD mode is significantly improved by SIMO and MIMO techniques. While the performance increase from additional receive antennas in the base station reflects straightforwardly to the results, the

FDD based technology mapping for FPGA

Proceedings Euro ASIC '92, 2003
Functional decision diagrams (FDD) are shown to be a very efficient alternative to binary decision diagrams (BDD). FDDs are a representation in the functional domain, since they are based on the Reed-Muller Expansion and not on the sum-of-products form, which is suited to the operational domain.

Indoor FDD multi-operator deployment

Fourth International Conference on 3G Mobile Communication Technologies, 2003
The performance of UTRA-FDD was assessed under multi-operator deployments in an indoor office environment. A modified version of the proposed 3GPP picocell scenario was used, with two deployed operators, each having 5 base stations (BS). Two different deployments were investigated: one where the BSs of the different operators were colocated and another

Multi-mode PCA-based FDD Methods

2020
In traction systems of high-speed trains, the traction control unit produces gate trigger pulses for the insulated gate bipolar transistors (IGBT) where different modes are obviously revealed. For example, based on the gate pulses, which are triggered according to strict time series, the traction system of CRH5 can be regarded as a switched system ...

A UMTS-FDD Cell Search Engine

Journal of VLSI signal processing systems for signal, image and video technology, 2004
This paper addresses the initial acquisition for the UMTS-FDD W-CDMA standard. It presents an innovative cell searcher design optimized for acquisition speed and low power consumption [1]. The proposed architecture relies on a memory-based digital matched filter with permuted processing order.

Coexistence of FDD flexible duplexing networks

2017 European Conference on Networks and Communications (EuCNC), 2017
We study the coexistence of FDD flexible duplexing systems, where a cellular network may use FDD uplink band for downlink transmission. As a result, adjacent channel emissions will change, with an effect to networks operating on adjacent channels. To stabilize the adjacent channel interference, equalizing downlink power control is considered, such that

Bi-Directional Training for FDD Systems

2019 IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM), 2019
We study distributed algorithms for joint adaptation of precoding and combining filters in frequency-division duplex (FDD) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) cellular systems. Neither the base stations nor the mobiles have a priori channel state information, and the transmit/receive filters are directly adapted through training.
