Advances in Fe-based amorphous/nanocrystalline alloys

Journal of Applied Physics, 2022
Fe-based amorphous/nanocrystalline alloys exhibit excellent soft magnetic properties, including high saturation magnetic flux density (Bs), high permeability, low coercivity (Hc), and low magnetostriction. They are utilized in distribution transformers, transformers, reactors, and other devices.

Crystallization of Fe-based amorphous alloys

Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 1999
An Fe 73.5 Si 15.5 B 7 Nb 3 Cu 1 alloy with a crystalline grain structure is a soft magnetic material since it has good values of permeability while maintaining a saturation magnetization. Thermal annealing of an amorphous melt spun alloy in the temperature range 480-510°C produces a crystalline dispersion of Fe(Si) particles with diameter of the ...

Ductile Fe-based amorphous alloy

Materials Science and Engineering: A, 2012
Abstract Experiments demonstrated that the addition of a minute amount of V to Fe 52 Co (20− x ) B 20 Si 4 Nb 4 V x amorphous alloy induces atomic-scale phase separation, which dramatically enhances the plasticity. Especially, Fe 52 Co 17.5 B 20 Si 4 Nb 4 V 2.5 amorphous alloy exhibited a strength of 4.7 GPa and a fracture strain of 8.0%, which ...

Magnetization in amorphous Ni-Fe-Based alloys

Physica B+C, 1977
Abstract We report on magnetic measurements on amorphous ( Fe x Ni 1− x ) 80 P 10 B 10 alloys with 0 ⩽ x ⩽ 0.5. The amorphous Ni-rich alloys are characterized as weak itinerant ferromagnets. The curvature of the Arrott plots are used for discussing the appearance of an inhomogeneous magnetization.

Corrosion resistance of Fe-based amorphous alloys

Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2014
Abstract Fe-based amorphous alloys can be designed to present an attractive combination of properties with high corrosion resistance and high mechanical strength. Such properties are clearly adequate for their technological use as coatings, for example, in steel pipes.

Silicon diffusion in an Fe-based amorphous alloy

Applied Surface Science, 1986
Abstract The segregation rate of Si in amorphous as well as precrystallized Fe 81 B 13.5 Si 3.5 C 2 was determined as a function of time at different temperatures below the crystallization temperature. Analysis of the segregation kinetics yielded diffusion parameters of E = 72±9 kJ/mol, D 0 = 1.7 × 10 −15 m 2 / s for the amorphous specimen ...
