Magnetically Guided Theranostics: Novel Nanotubular Magnetic Resonance Imaging Contrast System Using Halloysite Nanotubes Embedded with Iron–Platinum Nanoparticles for Hepatocellular Carcinoma Treatment

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 5, Issue 8, August 2024.
The inner diameter of the lumen is enlarged by etching the halloysite nanotubes with an acidic solvent to increase the loading capacity of the iron–platinum nanoparticles and anticancer drugs. By adjusting the direction of the magnetic field with 3D stress and pressure, the increased saturation magnetization of the material can effectively achieve ...

Bulk Nanostructured Silicide Thermoelectric Materials by Reversible Hydrogen Absorption–Desorption

open access: yesSmall, Volume 20, Issue 21, May 23, 2024.
For the first time, the production of bulk nanostructured silicide thermoelectric materials by a reversible hydrogen absorption–desorption process is demonstrated. The advanced synthesis process enables microstructure refinement of more than two orders of magnitude, from around 50 µm in the initial ingot to 100–200 nm.

Effect of pack-boriding on the tribological behavior of Hardox 450 and HiTuf Steels

open access: yesReviews on Advanced Materials Science, 2020
In this study, Hardox 450 and HiTuf steels were boronized by pack-boriding method at 800, 900, and 1000∘C for 5 h. The phases, microstructure, hardness, and wear behavior of boride layers formed on the surface of samples were investigated using XRD, SEM,

Novel Fe‐Based Amorphous Brazing Foils in the Quinary System Fe–Ni–Cr–Si–B

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 26, Issue 4, February 2024.
Flexible Fe‐based brazing foils are designed by means of thermodynamic databases in the quinary system Fe–Ni–Cr–Si–B and the atomic mismatch factor λ. Thermal and microstructure characterization indicate a nanocrystalline or amorphous structure of some Fe‐based foils produced in the melt‐spin process.

Direct Recycling of Hot‐Deformed Nd–Fe–B Magnet Scrap by Field‐Assisted Sintering Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, Volume 5, Issue 1, January 2024.
Electric current‐assisted sintering (ECAS) techniques have the potential to directly densify scrap Nd–Fe–B magnet powder into new magnets. A systematic experimental study is performed to generate new magnets from scrap material, and the samples' magnetic properties are measured.
