Feasibility of a resonance-based Planet Nine search [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
It has been proposed that mean motion resonances (MMRs) between Planet Nine and distant objects of the scattered disk might inform the semimajor axis and instantaneous position of Planet Nine.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Taxane combination chemotherapy in breast cancer: Experience from a tertiary cancer centre in India

open access: yesIndian Journal of Medical and Paediatric Oncology, 2017
Aims: Docetaxel, Doxorubicin, Cyclophosphamide (TAC) is an intensive chemotherapy regimen; however, being highly myelosuppressive, its usage is limited in developing countries and hence merits exploration for feasibility and efficacy.

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Detection Feasibility of Cluster-Induced CMB Polarization

open access: yes, 2017
Galaxy clusters can potentially induce sub-$\mu$K polarization signals in the CMB with characteristic scales of a few arcminutes in nearby clusters. We explore four such polarization signals induced in a rich nearby cluster and calculate the likelihood ...

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

On the Degrees of Freedom of Asymmetric MIMO Interference Broadcast Channels

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper, we study the degrees of freedom (DoF) of the asymmetric multi-input-multi-output interference broadcast channel (MIMO-IBC). By introducing a notion of connection pattern chain, we generalize the genie chain proposed in [11] to derive and ...

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

FEASIBILITY FOUR WAYS [PDF]

open access: yesSocial Philosophy and Policy, 2017
Abstract:Both the idea of feasibility and the role that it might play within political theory are controversial. Recent discussions have attempted to specify an appropriate overall conceptualization of feasibility. This essay offers a more nuanced account of a number of interrelated aspects of feasibility and argues for a more realistic view of ...

Finite amplitude method for the quasi-particle-random-phase approximation

open access: yes, 2011
We present the finite amplitude method (FAM) for superfluid systems. A Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov code may be transformed into a code of the quasi-particle-random-phase approximation (QRPA) with simple modifications.
