Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Study on Evaluation Method of Water Injection Efficiency in Low-Permeability Reservoir

open access: yesGeofluids, 2021
Low-permeability reservoirs, especially ultralow-permeability reservoirs, usually show a problem of ineffective water injection which leads to low pressure with high injection-production ratio.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

A global pricing extension of the simplex method [PDF]

open access: yesOperations Research and Decisions
We introduce the use of a global, nonlinear price function in linear programming and the simplex method. The usual, linear price function of this method captures the objective's behaviour over the cone of directions defined by the nonbasic columns ...

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

The vector optimization and modeling of a technical systems

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
The construction a feasible solution set with a given accuracy is a main problem in multicriteria optimization and modeling. In order to construct the feasible solution set, a method called the Parameter Space Investigation has been created and ...

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Underwater Noise Modeling and Direction-Finding Based on Heteroscedastic Time Series

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2007
We propose a new method for practical non-Gaussian and nonstationary underwater noise modeling. This model is very useful for passive sonar in shallow waters.

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.
