OCONNORIIDAE, A NEW FAMILY OF FEATHER MITES (ACARINA, PTEROLICHOIDEA)
Journal of Entomological Science, 1989Oconnoriidae, Oconnoria, Oconnoria inexpectata, n. fam., n. gen., n. sp., are established and assigned to the astigmatid superfamily Pterolichoidea. These quill inhabiting mites were collected from a Philippine boobook owl, Ninox philippinensis Bonaparate (Aves, Strigidae).
