A Geomorphometric Approach to Estimate the Deterioration of Earthen Archaeological Sites by Rainfall and Diffusion Processes: The Huaca Chornancap (Eighth–14th Century ad), Lambayeque, Peru

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Rain‐induced erosion processes can severely damage Earthen archaeological sites. Huaca Chornancap (HCH; eighth–14th century ad) is a platform located in the Lambayeque region (Peru) exposed to seasonal rain due to El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO).

Production of 3D printed biomodels of the canine brain for veterinary neuroanatomy teaching

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, EarlyView.
Abstract Teaching neuroanatomy presents multiple challenges to both students and teachers, as it is a subject with highly dense content that commonly causes the development of aversion by students, a phenomenon referred to as “neurophobia,” which has been documented in human and veterinary medicine students.

Augmented reality for teaching undergraduate human anatomy: An educators' perspective

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, EarlyView.
Abstract The purpose of this study was to explore the perspectives of Australian educators on using augmented reality (AR) as a method for learning human anatomy in the undergraduate health sciences. This will determine the current value of AR and guide future research and development. This prospective qualitative study used a mixed‐methods approach to

Dermoscopy features of infantile perianal pyramidal protrusion

Pediatric Dermatology, 2023
AbstractInfantile perianal pyramidal protrusion (IPPP) is a benign condition generally noted in childhood but may persist for several years. Dermoscopy may help to distinguish it from other conditions, particularly genital warts. We report six cases of IPPP and describe the dermoscopic features that will distinguish these lesions from verrucae.

Vertical feature pyramid networks

2021
In this paper, a new scalable configuration is introduced for arranging Feature Pyramid Networks (FPNs) known as Vertical FPNs or VFPNs. Our work is an alternative approach to the one commonly employed for computer vision tasks.

CMT with pyramidal features

Neurology, 2003
To determine whether Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) with pyramidal features is genetically distinct from other dominantly inherited axonal neuropathies, the authors examined all chromosomal loci and genes for axonal CMT. Two families were identified with an axonal CMT phenotype with distal wasting, weakness, pes cavus, sensory loss, and mild pyramidal signs

ExtraDet With Quad Feature Pyramid Networks

2020 11th International Conference on Computing, Communication and Networking Technologies (ICCCNT), 2020
In this paper, we look at different architectures of feature pyramid networks and introduce a new one, namely, QuadFPN. We apply this FPN technique to the popular EfficientDet and obtain an improvement in performance by a minimum of 1.2% mAP on COCO dataset on each of the models under 10 million parameters (D0, D1, D2).

Laplacian pyramids for deep feature inversion

2015 3rd IAPR Asian Conference on Pattern Recognition (ACPR), 2015
Modern feature extraction pipelines, especially the ones using deep networks, involve an increasing variety of elements. With layered approaches heaping abstraction upon abstraction, it becomes difficult to understand what it is that these features are capturing.
