This study reveals that maternal antibiotic exposure prior to conception disrupts intergenerational gut microbial succession. By enhancing maternal‐offspring microbial transmission, altering microbial developmental trajectories and increasing selective pressures during community assembly, these disturbances lead to persistent gut mucosal immaturity and

An atomically precise Cu14 cluster‐mediated bond scission reaction pioneers the amplification of the antitumor immune response via synergetic cuproptosis‐associated immunogenic cell death induction and in situ autophagy blockade. ABSTRACT Transition metal‐mediated cleavage mechanisms have emerged as an effective means to mitigate the off‐target ...

ABSTRACT Gut microbiota dysbiosis promotes colorectal cancer (CRC) tumorigenesis. A global fecal metagenomic analysis identified Gemella morbillorum as a key contributor to the CRC‐associated microbiota. Fluorescence in situ hybridization revealed that Gemella morbillorum is enriched in CRC tumor tissues compared to adjacent normal tissues.

The Risks of Phosphate Enemas in Toddlers: A Life-Threatening Unawareness
Background: While oral laxatives represent the first-line treatment of fecal impaction, enemas are frequently used in clinical practice in pediatric emergency departments (PEDs) and by family pediatricians (FPs).

This study analyzes gut bacteria in cholangiocarcinoma patients, revealing distinct microbial signatures that enable accurate disease detection. Species‐based diagnostic models achieved over 98% accuracy in identifying cholangiocarcinoma and distinguished it from other liver diseases. The research demonstrates that specific beneficial bacteria suppress

Effects of gabapentin on muscle spasticity and both induced as well as spontaneous autonomic dysreflexia after complete spinal cord injury [PDF]
We recently reported that the neuropathic pain medication, gabapentin (GBP; Neurontin), significantly attenuated both noxious colorectal distension (CRD)-induced autonomic dysreflexia (AD) and tail pinch-induced spasticity compared to saline-treated ...

Fecal impaction and colon obstruction
Fecal impaction is an important cause of lower gastrointestinal tract obstruction and carries high risk of mortality and morbidity, it is highly emphasized to early identify it to minimize any risk of complication. Recurrence is common, therefore preventive modalities as increasing the dietary fiber content to 30 gm/day, water intake, or ...

TRF enriches Ruminococcus, a bacterial genus producing SCFAs, and activates the epithelial HIF‐1α signaling pathway. This mechanism protects the colonic mucosa from inflammatory insults in colitis models. Mechanistically, gut lactate production during starvation and refeeding mediates H4K12la, which increases SLC9A3 expression and creates an acidic gut
