Textures of alumina scales on FeCrAl alloys

Scripta Materialia, 2003
Abstract The textures of alumina scales grown on FeCrAl and FeCrAlY alloys were measured. They both show no significant preferred orientation. The scale on FeCrAl is equiaxed while that on FeCrAlY is columnar. This combination of columnar morphology with no preferred orientation for the scale on FeCrAlY is explained by the role of yttrium during the ...

Preparation, Structure and Properties of FeCrAl Honeycombs

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
FeCrAl alloy powder is used to mix with an additive to prepare a powder mixed paste. FeCrAl alloy honeycombs are fabricated by extruding the powder mixed paste, then dried and sintered. While sintering at 1200°C, with sintering time increase, the volume of sintered honeycombs increase and density decrease.

Nanostructured Ternary FeCrAl Oxide Photocathodes for Water Photoelectrolysis

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2016
A sol-gel method for the synthesis of semiconducting FeCrAl oxide photocathodes for solar-driven hydrogen production was developed and applied for the production of meso- and macroporous layers with the overall stoichiometry Fe0.84Cr1.0Al0.16O3. Using transmission electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, phase separation into Fe ...

Sulfidation Resistance of Porous FeCrAl Alloy

Materials Science Forum, 2018
FeCrAl alloy is regarded as the optimization material for coal-gasification purification with high temperature, due to its good mechanical property, oxidation resistance and sulfide resistance. This paper focuses on the effect of preoxidation on sulfidation resistance of porous FeCrAl alloy.

Synthesis of ferrierite coatings on the FeCrAl substrate

Catalysis Today, 2006
Zeolite coatings on metal substrates are highly desirable materials that can be used as efficient catalysts. In this paper we report on preparation of ferrierite type zeolite coatings on a pre-oxidized metal substrate. Ferrierite was chosen due to its unique catalytic properties, including potential application in nitrogen oxides removal.

Effect of FeCrAl sublayer composition on the microstructure and corrosion resistance of FeCrAl/yttria-stabilized zirconia composite coatings

Journal of Vacuum Science & Technology A
The effect of FeCrAl sublayer composition on the microstructure and lead-bismuth eutectic corrosion behavior of the FeCrAl/YSZ (Yttria-stabilized zirconia) composite coatings was systematically investigated by SEM and XRD. The results show that the FeCrAl sublayer as a diffusion barrier and a bonding layer is beneficial to improve the corrosion ...

Properties of HVOF-sprayed TiC-FeCrAl coatings

Wear, 2019
Abstract As an alternative to WC-CoCr and Cr3C2-NiCr coatings for wear and corrosion protection, a TiC – 25 vol% (Fe-20 wt%Cr-5 wt%Al) powder, free from hazardous and/or supply-critical elements (Ni, Co, W), was produced by high-energy ball-milling and processed by High Velocity Oxygen-Fuel (HVOF) spraying, obtaining dense ( 12 GPa) layers with ...

Alloyability of warm formed FeCrAl powder compacts

Materials Today Communications, 2015
Abstract Alloyability of warm formed Fe-based powder compacts is presented here. Iron (Fe) powder ASC100.29 was mixed with other alloying elements, namely chromium (Cr), and aluminum (Al) powder for 60 min and compacted at 150 °C by applying 130 kN axial loading, simultaneously from upper and lower punches to generate green compacts.

Roll Bonding and the Application in Making FeCrAl Alloy

Materials Science Forum, 2005
Fe-21Cr-6Al-0.03(Ce+La) alloy has been made by an innovative method of roll bonding and diffusion alloying for catalytic converter metal foil substrate used for exhaust emission control. During the processes, roll bonding is applied to make a sandwiched Al/Fe22Cr/Al composite material from aluminum and Fe22Cr alloy. Conversion from the composite to the
