Textures of alumina scales on FeCrAl alloys

Scripta Materialia, 2003
Abstract The textures of alumina scales grown on FeCrAl and FeCrAlY alloys were measured. They both show no significant preferred orientation. The scale on FeCrAl is equiaxed while that on FeCrAlY is columnar. This combination of columnar morphology with no preferred orientation for the scale on FeCrAlY is explained by the role of yttrium during the ...

Sulfidation Resistance of Porous FeCrAl Alloy

Materials Science Forum, 2018
FeCrAl alloy is regarded as the optimization material for coal-gasification purification with high temperature, due to its good mechanical property, oxidation resistance and sulfide resistance. This paper focuses on the effect of preoxidation on sulfidation resistance of porous FeCrAl alloy.

Roll Bonding and the Application in Making FeCrAl Alloy

Materials Science Forum, 2005
Fe-21Cr-6Al-0.03(Ce+La) alloy has been made by an innovative method of roll bonding and diffusion alloying for catalytic converter metal foil substrate used for exhaust emission control. During the processes, roll bonding is applied to make a sandwiched Al/Fe22Cr/Al composite material from aluminum and Fe22Cr alloy. Conversion from the composite to the

High temperature corrosion of FeCr and FeCrAl alloys

Effect of Yttrium Addition on Nonmetallic Inclusions in FeCrAl Alloys

steel research international, 2023
To investigate the effect of yttrium (Y) addition on nonmetallic inclusions in FeCrAl alloys, a series of laboratory experiments and thermodynamic calculations are carried out as a function of reaction time and Y addition amount. Without Y addition, the main inclusion in FeCrAl alloys is AlN, and only a small amount of Al2O3 inclusions is evident.

Impurity distribution in Al2O3 formed on an FeCrAl alloy

Scripta Materialia, 2004
Abstract Analytical electron microscopy and Auger spectroscopy were used to study the amount and distribution of Fe, Cr and S impurities in the Al2O3 scale grown on an FeCrAl alloy. Segregations of Fe on grain boundaries and S on internal void surfaces were found, and a mechanism of intragranular void formation in Al2O3 is proposed.

Radiation response and mechanical properties of FeCrAl alloy

2022
Nuclear fission energy has developed for more than five decades and become one of the most important low-carbon energy forms. The extreme environment in the advanced reactors, including high operating temperature and high neutron radiation dose, raises new challenges for structural materials.

The oxidation behavior of some FeCrAlY, FeCrAl, and yttrium ion‐implanted FeCrAl alloys compared and contrasted

Journal of Vacuum Science & Technology A: Vacuum, Surfaces, and Films, 1986
The 1050 °C oxidation behavior of an iron–25 wt. % chromium–4 wt. % aluminum alloy modified by yttrium additions was studied. Yttrium was added to this alloy in the form of (1) a metallic addition; (2) an ion implant; and (3) as yttrium sulfide. In agreement with other investigators, metallic yttrium additions effected thin, essentially flat adherent ...
