ENERGY AND PROTEIN INGREDIENTS FOR USE IN PIAPARA (Megaleporinus obtusidens) DIETS: NUTRITIVE VALUE AND INTESTINAL MORPHOMETRY

open access: yesBoletim do Instituto de Pesca, 2021
The apparent digestibility coefficients for crude protein (ADCCP), dry matter (ADCDM), and gross energy (ADCGE) of ingredients were determined for piapara (Megaleporinus obtusidens).

The GH10 and GH48 dual-functional catalytic domains from a multimodular glycoside hydrolase synergize in hydrolyzing both cellulose and xylan

open access: yesBiotechnology for Biofuels, 2019
Background Regarding plant cell wall polysaccharides degradation, multimodular glycoside hydrolases (GHs) with two catalytic domains separated by one or multiple carbohydrate-binding domains are rare in nature.

Rapid Response to Trametinib Combined With Chemotherapy for Infant BRAF‐Fused Chiasmatic Glioma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Infants, less than 1 year, with chiasmatic gliomas (ICG) present a major therapeutic challenge due to large tumor size, decreased vision, rapid progression, and poor response to vincristine/carboplatin chemotherapy. The majority have a BRAF fusion, which may respond to downstream MEK inhibitors but response time is slow. There are no safety or

Mycotoxin contamination in feeds and feed materials in China in year 2020

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science, 2022
A survey of mycotoxin contamination in feed commodities in China was performed and the regional differences of mycotoxin contamination in new season corn was assessed during January 2020–November 2020 in this research. 1,610 samples were analyzed for the

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
