Live Performance, Carcass, and Bone Quality Responses of Grower and Finisher Broilers to Dietary Metabolizable Energy Levels

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Poultry Science
Broiler energy nutrition has attracted attention due to its economic importance, particularly during the rearing period of 22-42 days of age. There are many evidences that broilers changed their feed intake capacity due to genetic selection, especially ...

Solar Heating Enhanced Selective Recovery of Metal Ions Through Flowing Electrodes Enabled by Hybrid Carbon Nanostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A new electrochemical system based on a microporous hybrid of carbon nanoplatelets and nanotubes to selectively capture Ni2+ from wastewater is constructed. The system temperature rises rapidly when irradiated with sunlight, which enhances the Ni2+ removal rate by 250% and the selectivity by 53%, and the energy consumption is also reduced by 51 ...

Performance of broiler chickens at pre starter and starter phases using diets with different metabolizable energy values of ingredients, at different ages

open access: yesCiência Rural
: The experiment was carried out to evaluate the performance of broilers in 1-7 and 8-21 days of age, using metabolizable energy values of corn, soybean meal and soybean oil previously determined for each phase in another metabolism trial.

Quantum‐Grade Nanodiamonds from a Single‐Step, Industrial‐Scale Pressure and Temperature Process

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Novel method for creation of nitrogen‐vacancy centers in 50‐nm nanodiamonds based on high‐temperature plastic deformation is demonstrated. Compared to the electron irradiation approach, it yields nitrogen‐vacancy centers with significantly improved charge stability, T1 relaxation time, and optical Rabi contrast.

Advances in Stimuli‐Responsive Organic Materials and Polymers toward Intelligent CO2 Capture

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of the relationship between different stimuli and stimuli‐responsive organic materials and polymers for carbon dioxide (CO2) capture. Main stimuli include redox, pH, magnetism, temperature, light, and pressure. Furthermore, multi‐responsive materials, due to their high adaptability and scalability in complex environments, are ...

Alkali Ion‐Incorporated HfO2 Dielectrics for Reconfigurable Neuromorphic Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents an indium gallium zinc oxide (IGZO) transistor with an alkali cation‐integrated hafnium dioxide (HfO2) dielectric exhibiting synaptic behavior via ion retention. The solution‐based film fabrication strategy overcomes the limitations of atomic layer deposition (ALD) and precursor coating, enabling the control of synaptic retention ...
