Effects of egg storage duration prior to incubation on performances of Arab Chickens during the first week post-hatch [PDF]
This study investigated the effects of egg storage duration prior to incubation on performances of Arab Chickens during the first week posthatch. A total of 100 day-old-chicks were distributed among 20 experimental units, each representing a different ...

SummarySelection for residual feed consumption based on genotypic regression (RE) was compared with selection for feed conversion ratio (RA) using two experiments of downward selection for feed efficiency in Tribolium castaneum. The first experiment was designed to decrease feed consumption: weight gain, with residual feed consumption being based on ...

Effect of temperature rise on growth performance, feed intake, feed conversion ratio and sex ratio of the Nile Tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus [PDF]
This study was conducted to investigate the effect of increasing water temperature on growth performance, feed intake, feed conversion ratio, and sex ratio of Oreochromis niloticus. Two groups of O. niloticus fries (3 days post-hatching) were reared in an indoor system, at 30°C and 34°C.

Channel Catfish, Ictalurus punctatus, Size and Feed Conversion Ratio
Channel catfish, Ictalurus punctatus, of five size-classes were stocked into 20, 0.04-ha earthen ponds at a rate of 14,826 fish/ha. Mean initial weights for each size-class were 0.232, 0.458, 0.678, 0.911, and 1.10 kg/fish. Four ponds were randomly allotted to each treatment. A commercial 28% protein diet was fed daily to apparent satiation.

Feeding of by-products completely replaced cereals and pulses in dairy cows and enhanced edible feed conversion ratio [PDF]
When fed human-edible feeds, such as grains and pulses, dairy cows are very inefficient in transforming them into animal products. Therefore, strategies to reduce human-edible inputs in dairy cow feeding are needed to improve food efficiency. The aim of this feeding trial was to analyze the effect of the full substitution of a common concentrate ...
