The Economic Cost of Domestic Hunger: Estimated Annual Burden to the United States [PDF]
Examines the extent of domestic hunger and estimates the cost burden of food insecurity to the nation, including the costs of charity to help feed families, mental health and physical illnesses, and impaired educational outcomes and economic ...

Through direct application of porous transport layer (PTL) on the bipolar plate (BPP) with thermal spraying, the interfacial contact resistance is improved. With the cold gas sprayed BPP–PTL coating system, a proton exchange membrane water electrolysis cell with a cell voltage of Ucell = 1.9 V can be operated up to i = 2.5 A/cm2 in a dynamic mode ...

EDX elemental map of the pre‐oxidized MgO–steel cermet anode cross section after electrolysis. The development of inert anodes for aluminum electrolysis remains challenging due to the high corrosivity of cryolite‐based melts at 950°C–1000°C. This study investigates the corrosion and process behavior of a carbon‐free MgO–steel cermet anode derived from ...

The cost of diversity in livestock feed rations
This study investigates the financial cost of increasing the diversity of cereal grains in livestock feed rations. We first develop a nonlinear mathematical programming model that determines the least-cost composition of livestock feed rations of one metric ton that have at least the same energy and nutrient content as a reference feed ration.

A carbon‐free, as‐sintered MgO–steel cermet anode, fabricated via cold isostatic pressing using MgO–C refractory recyclate, was evaluated under laboratory‐scale K‐cryolite electrolysis at 800°C. Operation at this reduced temperature, combined with the electrolyte's limited electrical conductivity, led to an increase in cell voltage.

Studying productivity of bester yearling in reservoirs of different types
The article provides a comparative assessment of traditional and developed fish-breeding tanks for keeping bester yearlings. As a result of growing fish in different reservoirs, it’s been found that when using the “ICA-2” and “INTEX” tanks, there is ...
