A novel microbiome metabolic modulator improves the growth performance of broiler chickens in multiple trials and modulates targeted energy and amino acid metabolic pathways in the cecal metagenome

open access: yesPoultry Science, 2021
A meta-analysis of 19 floor-pen trials (579 replicate pen observations) in diverse geographies, basal diets, seasons, and medication programs was carried out to evaluate the effects of 2 precision glycan microbiome metabolic modulators (MMM1 and MMM2) on

Research progress of traditional Chinese medicine on control of piglet diarrhea

open access: yesSiliao yanjiu, 2021
Piglet diarrhea is a common multi-factor disease in pig industry, and it is also one of the most serious piglet diseases at present. Traditional Chinese medicine has many advantages, such as extensive resources, easy to absorb, not easy to develop drug ...

Phase Angle as an Early Functional Biomarker of Cancer‐Related Fatigue in Pediatric Oncology: A Prospective Longitudinal Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Pediatric cancer remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, particularly in low‐and middle‐income countries. Cancer treatment may impair nutritional status, alter body composition, and exacerbate cancer‐related fatigue (CRF).

How antibiotics are used in pig farming: a mixed-methods study of pig farmers, feed mills and veterinarians in Thailand

open access: yesBMJ Global Health, 2020
Background Rising global concern about antimicrobial resistance has drawn attention to the use of antibiotics in livestock. Understanding the current usage of antibiotics in these animals is essential for effective interventions on the optimisation of ...

Natural Killer Cells in Paediatric Soft Tissue Sarcomas: A Systematic Review

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Paediatric soft tissue sarcomas (pSTS) are a rare and heterogeneous group of malignant tumours arising in tissues of mesenchymal origin. The role of natural killer (NK) cells in pSTS remains poorly understood, with evidence fragmented across small preclinical studies and early‐phase clinical trials.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Proteome and transcriptome analysis revealed florfenicol via affected drug metabolism and lipid metabolism induce liver injury of broilers

open access: yesPoultry Science, 2021
: In order to explore the mechanism of liver injury induced by florfenicol (FFC) in broilers. Sixty broilers were randomly divided into 2 groups: control group: normal drinking water and feed were given every d; FFC group: tap water containing FFC (0.15g/

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.
