Uniform wear of the wheel in grinding axisymmetric aspheric

open access: yesJin'gangshi yu moliao moju gongcheng, 2017
In order to realize uniform wear of the wheel when grinding axisymmetric aspheric, constant removal grinding in parallel grinding is investigated.Firstly, the relation between the angular velocity of the grinding point, the feed rate of the grinding wheel ...

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Influence of cutting parameters on the surface roughness and hole diameter of drilling making parts of alluminium alloy / Pjovimo parametrų įtaka gręžiamų skylių skersmenims ir paviršių šiurkštumui gaminant detales iš aliuminio

open access: yesMokslas: Lietuvos Ateitis, 2013
The article researches the drilling process of an aluminium alloy. The paper is aimed at analyzing the influence of cutting speed, feed and hole depth considering hole diameter and hole surface roughness of aluminum alloy 6082 in the dry drilling process

De novo synthesis of short‐chain aldehydes and hydrocarbons secreted by the brown marmorated stink bug Halyomorpha halys

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The brown marmorated stink bug, Halyomorpha halys, mainly secretes 4‐oxo‐(E)‐2‐hexenal, (E)‐2‐decenal, dodecane and tridecane, a mixture representative of that released by many heteropterans. We demonstrated that H. halys can synthesise these secretory components de novo using dietary glucose.

Protocol for quantifying miRNA trafficking across the endosomal membrane

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An in vitro protocol measures miRNA uptake into endosomes isolated from mammalian cell extracts, which are free of subcellular contaminants. Performed at 37 °C in the presence of ATP, it ensures the import of single‐stranded miRNA into the endosomal lumen.

Functional performance of a vertical-shaft centrifugal palm nut cracker

open access: yesResearch in Agricultural Engineering, 2010
A vertical-shaft centrifugal palm nut cracker was presented and evaluated. The cracker efficiency and kernel breakage ratio are some of the most important parameters for evaluating the cracker performance. From the result of this work, the two parameters

Avidin is evolutionarily conserved in fish but dispensable for development and resistance against Streptococcus agalactiae in zebrafish

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The presence of biotin‐binding avidin proteins in fish and their biological significance are poorly characterized. We cataloged fish avidins and demonstrate that they are widely present and evolutionarily conserved. We created avd knockout zebrafish and show that zebavidin is dispensable for development and that resistance of avd knockout embryos in ...

Effect of Feeding Coumaphos on Feed Intake and Rate of Gain of Steers

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 1974
Abstract When four Holstein steers were fed a ration countaining 3mg/kg body weight coumaphos for 135 days, blood cholinesterase activity was depressed markedly. However, differences in feed intake, feed conversation, and gain in body weight were not significant between these and four steers fed untreated ration.

Chronobiology of Cancer: How Aging Fuels Oncogenesis at the Molecular Level

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This graphical abstract illustrates the key biological pathways linking aging with cancer development and progression. In the upper left, cumulative exposure to ultraviolet radiation, toxins, and reactive oxygen species (ROS) causes DNA damage and genomic instability, whereas age‐related decline in repair mechanisms, such as ATM/ATR, BER, and NER ...

Efficiency of Feed Utilization and Rate of Feed Passage Through the Digestive System

open access: yesPoultry Science, 1991
The relationship of efficiency of feed utilization determined by the feed conversion ratio (FCR) to the rate of feed passage through the digestive system of juvenile chickens was studied and three different methods of measuring feed passage rate (FPR) were evaluated. The FPR did not differ between sexes that had different FCR, nor did it differ between
