Sensory feedback for artificial limbs.
Medical progress through technology, 1979Over the years various approaches have been made to help solve the problem of replacing mechanical function of a lost limb, but there has been little direct interest in the associated problem of replacing the sensory function also lost in the amputation.

Wiener analysis of nonlinear feedback in sensory systems
Annals of Biomedical Engineering, 1991Experimental studies of certain sensory systems (e.g., vertebrate retinal cells and auditory fibers) have yielded qualitative evidence of the presence of nonlinear feedback. However, no methods have been available to provide the tools for quantitative analysis of this nonlinear feedback mechanism and subsequent modeling of the overall dynamics of these

A Vibrotactile Sensory Feedback System for Prosthetic devices
TENCON 2019 - 2019 IEEE Region 10 Conference (TENCON), 2019Available upper limb active prosthetic devices lack any form of sensory feedback. This paper presents development of a vibrotactile sensory feedback system employing the sensory substitution method. Testing the device with amputees and improvement in overall experience of using the device with the developed system is also discussed.

Sensory Feedback in locomotion control
2008This chapter focuses on the sensing processes and their interactions with locomotion control. The analysis has been accomplished taking into account different levels of behavior. Moreover dynamic simulators and robotic structures have been used to investigate the biological principles governing the sensory feedback in the real world.

Sensory Feedback in Regulation of Body Weight: is there a Ponderostat?
Nature, 1971IT has been postulated that “some correlate of body weight” might control daily food intake1,2. This could work through sensory feedback, as in the case of behavioural temperature regulation. In thermal sensation a stimulus (limited to between 15° and 45° C) feels pleasant when it is conducive to homoeo-thermia and unpleasant when it threatens ...

Sensory Feedback in the External Loop
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1985Abstract The paper deals with structures of multi-sensory feedback in advanced robot control systems. The sensor programming technique, based on an automatic generation of the “constraint frames” and a projection of teacher-incuced rudimentary path commands into these constraint frames is outlined.
