Learning feedforward control

Proceedings of 1994 American Control Conference - ACC '94, 2005
Some new results in learning feedforward control are presented in this paper. The proposed procedures are applicable to processes with or without feedback control. Under the ideal situation, this discrete-time learning control (LC) scheme can perfect the task with one repeat. Convergence analyses are also included for noisy and imprecise learning.

Multirate feedforward control of robot manipulators

2007 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems, 2007
This paper introduces a novel multirate feedforward control method for robot manipulators with elastic joints. Perfect tracking control methodology using multirate feedforward control was proposed by H. Fujimoto, et. al. Furthermore, A. Shimada, et. al.

Building temperature control with adaptive feedforward

52nd IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2013
A common approach to the modeling of temperature evolution in a multi-zone building is to use thermal resistance and capacitance to model zone and wall dynamics. The resulting thermal network may be represented as an undirected graph. The thermal capacitances are the nodes in the graph, connected by thermal resistances as links.

An Application of Adaptive Feedforward Control to Robotics

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1987
Abstract We present an algorithm enabling a robot that is repeating the same trajectory to reduce its trajectory following error on repetition of the motion. The algorithm details how to use the trajectory following error (the time history of the differences between the desired trajectory and the actually executed trajectory) after any particular ...

Feedforward Control of Glass Mold Cooling

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1975
Abstract This paper describes the feedforward control of air flow used to cool glass molds on a glass container forming machine. Feedforward action, based upon a heat transfer model and using a measurement of air temperature, changes the air flow so that the temperature of the glass is held constant. In the event the required air pressure exceeds fan

Application to Feedforward Control

2009
To meet the continual quest for higher tracking accuracy in engineering practice, feedforward controllers have become an essential complement to feedback control. The ideal feedforward controller inverts the (closed-loop) system and as it yields perfect tracking for any reference input, specialized feedforward design for periodic inputs seems ...

Analysis of Memory as a Feedforward Control Mechanism

Journal of Motor Behavior, 1969
The properties of memory as a feedforward control mechanism of perception and motion have been investigated by requiring Ss to project in active space-time an observed stimulus wave pattern. Memory error was measured under conditions in which the visual feedback of the memory response was delayed and interrupted (sampled) at five time magnitudes (0.0 ...

A feedforward control strategy for distillation columns

Artificial Intelligence in Engineering, 1997
Abstract The prime objective of this work is to demonstrate the potential of neural network modeling for advanced nonlinear control applications. In particular, for the case of a single composition distillation column, a model-based neural controller is developed to regulate the composition of the distillate stream.
