Canadian Journal of Animal Science, 1988Broiler chicks of different ages were used to study particle size disappearance and the effect of particle size on feed intake. The disappearance of particles larger than 1.18 mm was obvious at all ages. However, it was noticed that at 8 and 16 d disappearance of particles between > 1.18 mm and < 2.36 mm was most pronounced.

Dynamics of feeding preferences by a predator
Ecological Modelling, 2002A mathematical model describing the dynamics of food choice by feeding predator is suggested. The model is developed on the basis of the equation proposed by M. Eigen (1971) for the description of natural selection of biological macromolecules. The model is illustrated by classical experiments on selective feeding of fishes.
