Assessment and Correction of Non‐Linearity Effects for In Situ Rb‐Sr Geochronology Applied to High 87Rb/86Sr Mica

open access: yesGeostandards and Geoanalytical Research, EarlyView.
Key Points Measurement of 86Sr at count rates < 1500 cps can result in statistical bias. Non‐linear signals in analogue detection mode (e.g., Rb) present a challenge for accurately dating high 87Rb/86Sr mica (> 1000). Accounting for these considerations, high 87Rb/86Sr mica are dated here with accuracies of ∼ 1%.

SrZnSi3O8, a synthetic member of the feldspar group

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E: Crystallographic Communications
Strontium tecto-zincotrisilicate, SrZnSi3O8, is a synthetic member of the feldspar group with monoclinic symmetry (space group P21/n, Z = 4). In comparison with the alkali feldspars, the aluminium-richest tetrahedral site in these minerals is completely ...

Effects of Acidic Media on the Mechanical and Optical Properties of Digitally Designed Restorative Materials

open access: yesJournal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective This investigation assessed how acidic environments affect the optical behavior, surface roughness, and hardness of a newly developed 3D‐printed permanent resin compared with commonly used computer‐aided design/computer‐aided manufacturing restorative blocks.

Petrological features of selected components of the Cergowa sandstones (Outer Carpathians) recorded by scanning electron microscopy – preliminary study

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2017
The scanning electron microscope analysis of the Cergowa sandstones brings new data on their petrological features and chemical composition. Previous work in standard petrographic examination, e.g.

Assessing Color Inconstancy of CAD/CAM Materials: Influence of CIE White LED Illuminants and Substrate Shade

open access: yesJournal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To assess how the CIE white LED illuminants and substrate shade impact the color inconstancy of high‐translucency CAD/CAM materials. Materials and Methods From the spectral reflectance factors of Lava Ultimate‐LU, Grandio blocks‐GB, VITA Enamic‐VE, and VITA Mark II‐M specimens (n = 3/material) measured on nine background shades (ND1 ...

(Ultra)high‐Pressure Metamorphism in Sedimentary Versus Basaltic Rocks: Insights From a Variscan Mélange in the South Carpathians

open access: yesJournal of Metamorphic Geology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Reconstructing the pressure–temperature–time (P–T–t) evolution of (ultra)high‐pressure rocks is essential for constraining subduction and collisional dynamics. Subduction zones are often investigated using basic eclogites, whereas nonbasic high‐pressure rocks remain comparatively understudied, potentially hindering a comprehensive ...

Effectiveness of self‐etching ceramic primer on the bond strength of dental glass ceramics: A systematic review and meta‐analysis of in vitro studies on feldspathic and leucite‐reinforced ceramics

open access: yesJournal of Prosthodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose This systematic review and meta‐analysis evaluated the bond strength effectiveness of a self‐etching ceramic primer, specifically Monobond Etch & Prime (MEP), compared to hydrofluoric acid with silane (HF+S) in feldspathic and leucite‐reinforced dental glass‐ceramics (DGCs). Materials and Methods This study followed PRISMA‐p guidelines

40Ar/39Ar DATING OF ALKALINE ROCKS FROM THE BURPALA MASSIF AS A KEY TO UNDERSTANDING ITS FORMATION DURATION

open access: yesГеодинамика и тектонофизика
The article presents the results of 40Ar/39Ar dating of rocks (quartz and alkali syenites, nepheline syenites with REE-Nb-Zr mineralization) from the Burpala massif using feldspar, phlogopite, and amphibole.

Feldspar Albitization With Implications for Reservoir Quality Evolution of Eocene Turbidite Sandstones in Offshore Espírito Santo Basin, Eastern Brazil

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Geology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The diagenetic albitization of plagioclase and K‐feldspar grains is a transformative process that significantly alters sandstone's detrital composition and formation water chemistry, impacting reservoir quality. In this study, Eocene turbidite sandstones from the offshore Espírito Santo Basin, Brazil, were investigated to elucidate the role of
