Internal dynamics around static-deformation FEM states [PDF]
Constant velocity or constant force FEM solutions are static-deformation states, where the elastic deformation is stationary. These are the typical operation conditions.

Modelling of standard and specialty fibre-based systems using finite element methods
We report on the investigation of an approach for modelling light transmission through systems consisting of several jointed optical fibres, in which the analytical modelling of the waveguides was replaced by Finite Element Modelling (FEM) simulations ...

Melt Grafting of Geometry‐Tailored Voltage Stabilizers for High‐Performance Polypropylene Insulation
A scalable one‐step melt grafting strategy is developed to enhance the dielectric properties of isotactic polypropylene by covalently incorporating thermally stable aromatic voltage stabilizers. This solvent‐free approach improves volume resistivity and DC breakdown strength through deep trap formation and charge localization, offering a sustainable ...

Transient Non-linear Thermal FEM Simulation of Smart Power Switches and Verification by Measurements [PDF]
Thermal FEM (Finite Element Method) simulations can be used to predict the thermal behavior of power semiconductors in application. Most power semiconductors are made of silicon. Silicon thermal material properties are significantly temperature dependent.

In this study, the preparation techniques for silver‐based gas diffusion electrodes used for the electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide (eCO2R) are systematically reviewed and compared with respect to their scalability. In addition, physics‐based and data‐driven modeling approaches are discussed, and a perspective is given on how modeling can aid ...

Formulation method of ball indentation process for ultra-thin elastic body with mechanics poisson effect [PDF]
A new theoretical method for determining the mechanics properties of ultra-thin elastic materials is proposed in this paper. This method is based on a full contact model and Poisson’s effect. This study consisted of three steps.

Scalable Thermal Engineering via Femtosecond Laser‐Direct‐Written Phononic Nanostructures
This study demonstrates that femtosecond laser‐induced periodic surface structures (fs‐LIPSS) can function as phononic metasurfaces, reducing thermal conductivity below the plain thin‐film limit. Phonon Monte Carlo analysis reveals that the periodic structures restrict phonon mean free paths.

Analyzing the Total Structural Intensity in Beams Using a Homodyne Laser Doppler Vibrometer
The total structural intensity in beams can be considered as composed of three types of waves: bending, longitudinal, and torsional. In passive and active control applications, it is useful to separate each of these components in order to evaluate their ...
