Nerve Growth Factor is Sufficient to Cause Multiple Osteoarthritis‐Relevant Pathologic Features in Naïve Murine Knee Joints

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Nerve growth factor (NGF), a key mediator of pain, is increased in osteoarthritic (OA) joints. Antibodies against NGF show analgesic effects in painful knee OA, but clinical development was stopped because of side effects in the joints. Knowledge about the biologic effects of NGF on joint tissues is limited. Therefore, we explored the effects

Feedback strategies: Applying theory to practice

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, EarlyView.
Abstract Feedback is a cornerstone of the learning process, as evidenced by extensive educational research on enhancing its process and impact. However, learners consistently rate the quality of feedback lower compared to other aspects of teaching. Over the past decade, feedback models have shifted from a traditional, one‐way transmission from educator

Dissection versus prosection by anatomical region: Evaluating a regional group dissection curriculum in medical education

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, EarlyView.
Abstract Gross anatomy education has undergone significant changes due to evolving curricular demands, leading to reduced hands‐on dissection opportunities in many medical schools. The purpose of this study was to compare the academic performance of medical student dissectors and those assigned to prosection‐based learning across anatomical regions ...

The dead still teach the living: Body donor dissection in the digital age of anatomy education

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, EarlyView.
Abstract Donor‐based dissection has become increasingly contested in modern medical curricula as digital anatomy platforms, simulation technologies, virtual dissection tables, three‐dimensional reconstructions, and artificial intelligence‐supported learning have expanded.

Lateral and Anterior Closing Wedge “9/9” Degree Osteotomy to Correct Both Tibia Vara and Excessive Tibial Slope

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract High tibial osteotomy is a key option for patients with unicompartmental overload or instability. Although coronal correction for varus deformity is well established, excessive posterior tibial slope (PTS) is increasingly recognized as a contributor to anterior cruciate ligament graft failure.

Femoral nerve block versus intravenous fentanyl in adult patients with hip fractures - a systematic review

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Anestesiologia
Background: Hip fractures configure an important public health issue and are associated with high mortality taxes and lose of functionality. Hip fractures refer to a fracture occurring between the edge of the femoral head and 5 cm below the lesser ...

Arthroscopy‐Assisted Type 2 Posterior Horn Lateral Meniscus Transtibial Root Repair And Concurrent Inside‐Out Lateral Meniscus Horizontal Cleavage Tear Repair With an Anterolateral Ligament Reconstruction Utilizing Iliotibial Band Autograft

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and anterolateral ligament (ALL) play key roles in maintaining rotational stability of the knee joint. Injuries that cause ACL tears have been shown to also frequently compromise the integrity of the ALL.

Anatomic All‐Inside Repair of the Anteroinferior and Posterosuperior Popliteomeniscal Fascicles for Hypermobile Lateral Meniscus

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract Hypermobile lateral meniscus refers to abnormal mobility of an otherwise morphologically normal meniscus without obvious tears, causing lateral knee pain due to catching or locking of the lateral meniscus during flexion. The most common cause is rupture or elongation of the popliteomeniscal fascicles (PMFs), which connect the lateral meniscus ...

Arthroscopic Bone Block Procedure Using Iliac Crest Autograft and Labral Advancement and Repair

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract Recurrent anterior shoulder instability with significant glenoid bone loss requires bony augmentation to restore stability and prevent recurrence. Arthroscopic iliac crest bone block reconstruction offers an anatomical solution while avoiding morbidity of coracoid transfer.

Knotless Suture‐Bridge Technique for All‐Arthroscopic Repair of Proximal Knee Medial Collateral Ligament Injuries

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract This article describes an all‐arthroscopic knotless suture‐bridge technique for medial collateral ligament repair. Its key steps involve placing a medial row anchor and a lateral row anchor, connected via sutures passed through the torn ligament, thereby applying the suture‐bridge technique to achieve secure knotless fixation.
